wildest rendition I saw/heard of Pink Floyd songs was by a group here in Fla that performed the entire Dark Side of the Moon album straight thru in a performance. What made it stunning and real good is that the lead singer was a female with a killer voice.

That would be great to hear.

The Lips have done the whole album as well.

Yup saw the Lips do dark side live a couple years ago. Good show very much what you would expect from them.

That just sounds exactly like the original. I'm not sure I understand the point of covers if you don't impose your own sound, and while I understand that The Flaming Lips are a bit of a psychedelic band themselves, they have a very different sound than Pink Floyd ever did.

Anybody that covers a Bob Dylan song. He can write but not a great singer.

Bob Dyaln doesn't have a 'pretty' voice. but he sings most of his songs better than others have down them because his raspiness, nasalness somehow fits.

much in the same way as Janis Joplin(Piece of My Heart), most anything sung by Joe Cocker or the Fabulous Thunderbirds

Janis Joplin's voice is raw, not pretty, etc but the shear impact of her voice in"Piece of My Heart" makes remakes by others pale in comparison
