Based on what I've seen on ESPN and Rivals sites we continue to drop down in the rankings. halfassu is now rated number one and several other rivals are doing better then WM and company. What gives?

Three of our targets are announcing in August. If we get Lane, Wilson, and possibly JuCo Lambert from Georgia, our ranking is going to shoot up.

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH !!!!! This is a joke right......research prevents panic.....look at these numbers:

Year --- commits by 7/31 --- % of class --- Avg. Star rating
    2011 --------- 8 ----------- 47% ------- - -- 3.38
    2012 -------- 12 ---- ------- 54%----------- 3.58
    2013 -------- 15 ---- ------- 53%----------- 3.66
    2014 -------- 11 ---- ------- 50%----------- 3.54 (based on say 22 commits)

From what I can tell this looks pretty much right on schedule. Average stars tell more than some convoluted formula for rankings....

Please people...take some time to research before posting Armaggedon Threadlines.....the next dozen recruits could be a true "Dirty Dozen"...so chill and enjoy

Number one priority for this class was a top QB and we got one of the top 3 in the country by any measure. We also have one of the top RB commits and opened a pipeline to Miami area. Not worried about stars, as trust Muschamp and staff to identify talent that fits their system and finds coachable players with upside. I think we still have opportunities for top players in positions of need. I like our present verbals and pipeline for signing day. We have a class need of 16-20 and can't take everyone. We could oversign like Saban, but not fair to do to kids. I think we need some top talent along the offensive and defensive line and a few more secondary/wide receiver verbals, but other than that, I'm comfortable with class.

It's a simple answer, we can't get everyone because other schools have teams too.

I like sarcasm too but when you look at schools with 20 or more signee's (even though it's July!!!) I hope we do close with a bang so we can get on with the real season and feel comfortable. I have faith in WM and no the sky isn't falling but its clear we need more top players. '65 grad.

What is clear is we are fine the staff is comfortable and people that follow recruiting are as well.WHo cares what other teams are doing? UF cant sign 30 players this year. Miami already has 25 commit the Vols have 24 that is prob the max we can sign this year. Just enjoy the season.

Plus we have to remember that these are only commitments nothing matters till the coaches receive that signed LOI, and its a long ways from NSD

Sharpe, Lane, A. Jackson, Tabor and Adams will all be Gators. If we use every ship, we'll have another top five class.

If you expect us to jump to 25 before the "real" season starts I would say you're going to be disappointed.

Recruiting is a season long event now for everyone...and the season don't end until the morning of NSD.

I don't think any coach feels all that comfortable about recruiting during the season anymore. Hell, even Shady Ol' Nick Satan  has too worry about losing kids.

In general, nobody's safe anymore... Getting Fowler Jr ...Losing Quinton Powell

What I like is that we seem to be in the finals for a lot of top talent and have some good relationships seemingly built.

The PLAYERS seem to respond to Will as a coach & a recruiter

My problem is that when you start a thread that says "Recruiting in not very good right now"you better have the data to back it up......

Well again if you did the research first and truly looked at the schools that have over 20 or more signees, you would realize that all of the teams in the top 25(based on Scout rankings) that have over 20 recruits (11 teams) they all have a lower per average star rating than Florida. They have Quantity...not Quality !!! Also further research would tell you that all but one (Miami with 4) have only 1 or fewer top 100 players, while Florida has 3...Again, we have Quality not Quantity !!!!! And finally, Florida ranks 7th in star average, pretty darn good if you ask me...Quality not Quantity!!!

So that being said, based on all the research, Florida is right on schedule, we have 50% of the potential class, will close with another 35% after December and will have a great class.

What makes you think we are a lock for tabor? Don't forget Lorenzo carter is a big gator lean, plus quincy Wilson and Chris lammons, but yea I think your right, 5-10 tho in my opinion, they tend to put quantity over quality of recruits and we will probably only end up with just over 20 while other schools will have almost 30

While many were saying wait until FNL's I have been saying wait until September 1st. I am sticking with that. I am not some insider (have to say that for the weirdo's) but I have followed recruiting for awhile and understand how the cycle works. When you see a staff telling 4 star players they dont have room for them while also not giving out new offers you know they feel pretty good about where the class is headed.
