I'm taking my wife and two daughters to Gville in a few weeks during a non-football weekend. Most restaurants have closed since our list visit to the area. Any recommendations for restaurants, hotels or things to do while we we in town? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you would have.

What type of food are you looking for?

    Steakhouse- Embers
    Mexican- La Tienda
    Trendy- The Top
    Burgers- New Deal Cafe
    Italian- Manuels or Francescas
    BBQ- 4Rivers

    That should cover a bunch.

if you are looking for something to do check out the Museum of Natural History & The Butterfly Pavilion - we take out of towners (with and without children) and get really good feedback- not sure it Titanoboa is still the exhibit but by 9 & 5 year old grand kids are still talking about it :)

I second the Butterfly Pavilion. It is phenomenal. We take out of towners there too and go ourselves as well. It is only a short hike from the Hilton on 34th and Harn Rd.

Take a tubing trip, either Ichetucknee or Santa Fe and head out to Cross Creek, tour MKR house and eat at The Yearling.
