Average star ratings? Where do we stand with and without transfers factored in for this class? Also, what will our “#13 ESPN” recruiting rank that is being advertised go up to if we get the Gerald who is announcing tomorrow?

If any recruitnik stat cruncher can provide this data I would appreciate it. Trying to show a leg humper friend that our class was actually top 10 in a transition year when you factor in the stud transfers Mullen recruited.

Arguing with a leghumper today is an exercise in futility. This is their day - I’d steer clear of them

I'd rather do the opposite: Convince them that our recruiting class sucks, and then go out and beat them with our suckky recruits.

    2018 Avg Star Ratings

    1. OSU. 94.29* 26 signees
    2. UGA. 94.23* 26
    3. USC. 94.23* 18
    4. CLEM 93.45* 17
    5. BAMA 92.78* 19
    6. PSU. 91.70* 23
    7. OKL. 91.31* 22
    8. MIAMI 90.99* 23
    9. FSU. 90.91* 21
    10. UF. 90.69* 19
    11.WASH 90.41* 21
    12. AUB 90.20* 24
    13. LSU. 90.11* 22

By adding Van Jefferson and Trevon Grimes I used their rankings from 247 during their SR year. I came up with 91.25 which would put us just behind Oklahoma. (I can Hardly keep my eyes open so I'm struggling with the smallest tasks!! Lol)

    I didn't add Gerald though.

If I subtract Russell and add Gerald (along with the 2 tranfers) were at 91.28. Not much of a difference .

None....these sites quit doing anthing the minute signing day is over. That is why it doesn't matter when FSU have 4 or 5 of their signees not qualify and make it into school every year.

If we get Gerald I do not believe they will change the rankings. They are done, no changes.

I remember when Urb was here, USC was first in 1 ranking based on commitments on signing day, we were 2nd. a couple of USC commits went elsewhere after signing day, no changes made.

I'm not sure that is the case with ESPN, but it certainly is not with 247 or rivals. You might remember that Cece did not commit or sign on signing day for us and was included in our class for rankings.

Dunlap and Delance will be with us this year too for the first time.

Yeah, they've been on campus for awhile so I didn't include them. That and I'm too lazy.

Yes, but they technically came on the roster before fall practice in 2017. If you wanted to include them as part of recruiting, it would be more appropriate for them to be added to the rankings of the 2017 class.

It barely affects our overall total anyway. He's only ranked higher than Russell by a slim margin.

You weren't being lazy at all. You did it the right way. Delance and Dunlap in no way should be counted in this class. They were on football scholarship starting in the fall of 2017.

They did sign 17 but they were not part of the team. As far as players on the field they are new to us this year just like the new recruits though

Wouldn't you?? Georgia signed 7, yes 7, 5 star players and another 15 4 stars. That's the best NSD ever and yeah I would be gloating here in Birmingham if our Gators came away with that haul.

I hear you, but we are talking about recruiting. They were recruited and signed their scholarship papers before the fall of 2017. So if you were to count them for recruiting purposes, you would count them in the 2017 class.

I understand and I totally agree. But I'm looking at is quality football players that can be put on the field. The talent we add may be more than what our recruiting ranking says
