We have the best Corners in the country. Purifoy, Roberson, Watkins, Riggs, VH3. I watched them most of the game, and I honestly felt like Toledo's QB missed a lot of open receivers. He wasn't playing very good(even on the few plays where he had time to throw) Did anybody else notice that? Or am I nitpicking too much?

As a unit though I'm really excited about this year!!

First game and we were not at full speed on the corners.

Owens didn't throw very well because he had the best Dline in college football closing in on him.

I would have to go back and look at it. From what I recall, Poole struggled a little, but the rest were fine. You will always have open receivers on a given play because defensive backs never know exactly where the route is going. The main issue is whether the corners are disrupting the timing and precision of the routes by jamming at the lane, engaging on the breaks, and recovering after them. One of the reasons Toledo missed open receivers so often is that they weren't were they were supposed to be and that is a direct result of pressure from the corners and nickel guys.

That's the kind of answer I was looking for. You cleared things up. Thank you!
