It is easy to find "alternative facts" when you can just make them up.

Oh my. Someone seems awfully triggered this evening. Gotta love it when the most perpetually disingenuous poster on the forum is telling people to, "stop pretending."

How about if you stop pretending it's not true that prior to the election, the left at large was predicting that a Trump presidency would lead to economic disaster? Not only has that not happened, but the economic recovery is now proceeding at a pace considerably faster than it was before the election.

And, back to topic, these 2,500 additional jobs and employee bonuses at Fiat Chrysler were not planned or anticipated prior to the tax cut, which would not have happened if Clinton had won. :)

Not a Clinton fan. Never voted for one. (disclosure: would gladly take slick over any of the shit we've had the last 17 years - not meant as a compliment to slick). Under Clinton, we'd probably have a more rapid decline in these basic manufacturing jobs, more of these jobs leaving, etc. & we'd a have far more H1-B visas for high skilled foreign workers. I think the latter are what have kept & will (hopefully) keep American great. Low skilled manufacturing is not gonna MAGA. I feel for these folks & their families. It aint nearly as easy for a worker to move to Laos then it is to set up shop there. But, there is very little wealth created by these jobs. Take the extreme - why not try to increase AG jobs? Is that what we want? IMO, our competitiveness depends crucially on being able to steal the best, brightest & most motivated from around the world & of course keep our home grown talent home.

I understand why you're upset. Missing out on one of the best bull markets of our lives has to hurt. The question is did you miss out because of your politics, or did you at least have a good reason?

Good for Obama to be the beneficiary of an oversold market when he took office......makes his record on the market look strong.....albeit artificially but what does that matter when we're talking democrats

    Edit -Serious correction
And now Trump is the beneficiary of a market that has become way overbought since he took office. Although I'm in the minority. It's not going to last. Within the next year the bubble will burst.

This is the Shiller S&P 500 PE Ratio as of January 12, 2018. Much more oversold than it was a year ago.

No, you weren't. Are you seriously trying to argue that the fact that he only referred to immigrant from African countries as people we dont want because they are from shithole countries somehow makes it better? "Well it was offensive when he said it about Haitians, but we certainly dont want any of those Africans" is really a defense?

7 members of Congress in the room. 2 Senators heard it; 2 others "don recall," but don't deny it was said. Easily explained by the idea that when Trump spoke, they (understandably) were not listening or were on GC posting to threads here. What about the other 3?

Lindsey Graham says he heard it and chastised the President.

The defenses hear are interesting. 1) Trump did not say it and Durbin lied; b) the African countries are "sh**holes"; and c) the people from these countries who want to come to the US from these are not immigrants we want. Posters even post pictures from poor ares of countries where conditions are bad to support that those are "sh**hole" countries.

It is accurate to say that POTUS was talking about the people from those countries, based on what he said and in the context of a meeting on immigration.

Are you asking because you don't know? Because Obama's first year in office the stock market (S&P500) rose 26.5% ... his last year in office, his 8 year annualized average was 16.25% ... making him the second best president in history, only behind Clinton.

Trump's first year was 19% on the SP500, slightly better than Obama's 8 year average, but worse than Obama's first year.

Anyway, I think the answer to "Or much much much faster?" is no no and no.

The difference is that Trump treats Ametican jobs as a good thing and publicizes companies that invest in America. Obama and Hillary treated manufacturing as a neccessary evil.
