This Broadway piece is about a week old, but I missed it. I think someone else referred to it in a thread. Here is an excerpt:

There is absolutely no way you could play basketball your entire life and then think it could translate into a career as a tight end in the NFL.

The only three I can think of off the top of my head are Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez and Jimmy Graham......they're not very good, are they?

You can make more money in basketball and have a longer career while doing so.

    Well:

    1. Gates played no football in college

    2. Gonzalez played football all throughout college

    3. Graham played a year of college football after finishing his college basketball career.

So the way I see it, only Gates is like Young so far in not playing college football, but Young is 5" taller.

Brockaway is reaching to say that Young "worked out" with the football team, he was basically playing catch with Tyler Murphy and Trey Burton as part of a school project

Exactly, it would be like saying he worked out with the volleyball team and maybe would follow Chamberlain into pro volleyball.

I believe Pat will have a nice, long NBA career. He won't be a star, but he'll make a good role player. If the NBA doesn't work out, he'll still make at least $300,000 per year overseas for as long as he wants to play.

There's ZERO football in either scenario.
