I saw mentioned in another thread about our depth chart next year and the OP said Purifoy would be gone. Forgive me for asking...but..why? He is an athlete alright, but in all fairness...he needs as much college playing as anyone I've seen and certainly would benefit from an additional time in college. Honestly, hasn't impressed me that much...not as a corner...and certainly doesn't tackle well enough ( or hasn't shown me yet ) to be a NFL safety...so maybe the collective mind trust here can enlighten me as why the OP was sure he'd be scooped up in the draft.

If he is smart he would stay. He has not proven anything. Misses tackles, blows coverages, and is out of place a lot.

CB and there is a pretty good chance he and Roberson go pro. He is an outstanding athlete and his technique has improved in coverage. His tackling still sucks

Heck his cover skills are suspect.

His coverage skills have been about the same as last year, and maybe a little worse. Which means bad overall.

The NFL likes him. Hard to say with a lot of these kids how hard they're really trying once they've decided to go pro. Sometimes they just kind of mail in their final season and try not to get hurt. Not saying he isn't trying but just that he may be playing not to get hurt. Hard sometimes to blame them.

If projected to go round 1-2, I don't blame them. Thanks for your service.

He has been proven to be pretty overrated this year. I think he really needs another year here to develop his game. Then again, I said the same thing about Jordan Reed.

What games did you not like his cover skills? I dont think he is some lock down CB like Roberson but he hasnt been pretty darn good in coverage this year

That's fine….Purify blows more coverages than the rest of the secondary combined. He has tone of talent and he got by with it last year. This year he has been badly exposed! I wish him well on whatever path he chooses!

You're incorrect, sir. His coverage has not been bad, overall. He does have several issues to shore up but they seem to be rampant amoung all our db's in general this season.

No offense to Purifoy, but besides his pick this year, I have never seen him make one good play on the ball. I like him, I just don't see the NFL-ness this year. Roberson on the other hand. Decent tackler, great ball skills, matches up well with big receivers. Biggest issue is his eye control

None of our db's seem to be able to play the ball once their back is turned, one of our rampant issues.

I mean, it's a little hard for me to get beyond the fact that he has many interceptions in his UF career as Mike Pouncey, but he's a good player and a great athlete and I can see the appeal for an NFL club.

His potential alone will get him drafted somewhere.

A couple days ago Kiper or McShay, I forget which, had him in their top-5 CBs, #3 I think.

No, I'm not incorrect. Go watch every game, he is out of place quite frequently. Then goes on to miss tackles often as well. Kid has potential, but it is not all there yet. Him, and Roberson would both benefit coming back. Roberson is my favorite player on defense because he usually is so lock down, but this year he has been a little off.
