Good luck, 2 career INTs.
Man, that was a quick announcement. Like he couldn't get away fast enough...
Some guys are drafted strictly on potential. He's very athletic. Is he skilled enough? Probably not, but with proper coaching, who knows. I wish him well.
Benjamin is 23-years old. I think he will make the jump too.
Benjamin just got lucky. And he only got 212 yards, so it's not like Purifoy had a bad game or anything. O.k., maybe Purifoy drops down to the 8th round, but no lower! (Does he have Dee Webb disease by any chance?)
No Dee Webb disease with Purifoy. I don't recall Webb ever making a single impact play while here. Still the most baffling early entry I can remember. Purifoy is infinitely more talented than Webb, although I will concede he is still raw at CB.
KB cant be covered by anyone in cfb, Him burning LP isn't an indication where LP should fit in the draft. With that said i see LP in the same light as Will Hill.
This is exactly what I talked about previously regarding talking about players. Louchie doesn't owe anyone of you anything at all. If you had the opportunity to potentially make a minimum of $475k/year or risk injury and getting nothing, the money wins 9 out of 10 times.
The same ones here talking about his lack of talent or NFL potential are the same ones who were saying Deonte Thompson wouldn't make a roster.
I don't blame any of them that leave for the NFL. Get paid while you can.
I actually remember two incidents in which Purifoy performed well today. The INT, obviously, was great and there was another situation that I can't think of at the moment..... but Purifoy has been a great Gator overall. I don't fault him it all and wish him well.
ESPN has him rated as the 26th best player on the board. Low first round. More than likely, his paperwork said he wouldn't go any higher next year if he came back. If that's the case, it's a no-brainer to go. High 6 to low 7 figures or 300 a month stipend.
Good luck to him. I hope he has a long, good NFL career.
So happy to see him leave! I could NOT stand him. Missed so many tackles.
Good luck. Save your money up because you will get paid. Though I must say he was nowhere as good as the preseason hype indicated (shocker). He has great measurables but his production is simply not anywhere as good as his hype.
I think he should have played on offense.
Yeah I tend to think there is an inverse relationship between team chemistry and the number of 3rd year players who are itching for the last game to be over so they can quickly announce and get on to their NFL careers. Sometimes they are part of the team chemistry problems. Sometimes maybe they are not, but things are so bad in the clubhouse they can't wait to get out.
Purifoy has been an inspiring player most of his career but I haven't been impressed with him this year. Too inconsistent. And a guy with his talent should not be inconsistent--maybe there are attitude or dedication problems.
Wasn't he suspended once this year? That is always a bad sign.
He isn't that good... too slow
Yeah, was just going to say that maybe he can tackle NFL receivers.
No surprise there.
He'll probably be selected in the 1st round and be a day 1 starter. That's just how it works around these parts.
Good luck to him….I hope he plays better in the NFL than he did this past year for us. He got toasted more than any other CB we had. He had a couple of great moments but he was never a lock-down corner like everyone projected. I guess all the pre-season hype went to his head.
Dee Webb circa 2013
Seems like many of the DB's fail to turn around and look for the ball, is it just me noticing this or are these guys being taught to face guard the whole play. I see numerous balls that if the DB turned around they would be able to make a play on the ball and even pick it off. Has anyone else noticed this?
