Texas is tops with money. They fall behind many schools on the field and have since Royal retired. Not much before or after.

They would go after Franklin from Vandy before Graham. Franklin has won more SEC games behind Saban. Briles, Summlin, Shaw, Miles and even Fisher are better names then Graham and trust me, if TX calls on either of those guys, one of them is taking the job IMO. Harbaugh and Shaw are better coaches then Graham and Harbaugh is not leaving San Fran for UT. I’ve mentioned Shaw as a possible choice, but only him. Grahams name has not once come up any where. He’s a good coach, but he’s not a UT approved coach nor has he proven himself to even be considered. Hell even out coach who was once UT’s HCIW won’t even be called for the job.

Texas can't hire Todd Graham. Part of the deal with Patterson going to Texas was that he can't take any ASU coaches for one year

If not Saban then who ever their second choice is.

I hate them but, it is still Texas. It's not like asking Lou Brown to manage the Indians.

They ran off a coach that got them 8-4 for a coach that just came off 4-8? Texas' fans don't want a boring offense under any circumstance.

    My guess is Muschamp.

They will get turned down very publicly by their top 3 candidates (Saban, Meyer and Fisher) and have to settle quickly on someone that says yes.

Jim Harbaugh. . . just comes across as more of a college coach.

    FWIW, from Football Scoop:

Texas: Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Stefan Stevenson reports tonight that "Source close to Texas executive council of regents says Nick Saban will be the next Longhorns coach." Simply fascinating to watch this unfold…

    and

Texas: Chip Brown of Orangebloods is reporting that Mack Brown will step down this week. Chip states that Mack will move into a special assistant to the President of UT role. Both the university and Mack have said the decision has not been finalized yet (but this is still happening folks).

It won't be a west coast guy. For those of you that have lived both on the west coast and Texas, you know why. There is no there there in Texas.

Though Austin is a step up from Tuscaloosa.

I'd probably choose Austin over Columbus, OH.

Never been to Tallahassee, never had a reason.

UT is desperate to match TAM, but they might have to settle for something in the state of Tennessee.

Not Saban, though he will get a HUGE raise. Not Les Miles, though he'll also get a big raise. Not Fisher or Sumlin.

I think Texas will strike out on all the big names and might even give Mack Brown another year just to prolong the search. In the end, I think Muschamp's name will probably be thrown around but in the end, I predict they will name somebody completely off the radar.
