Obviously it's one practice, one in shorts at that, but Muschamp seemed to have a renewed energy about him. Loved the presser. He seems very excited.

I typically don't follow links that go to video interviews. I far prefer to read these kind of things Consequently, I've actually heard Muschamp speak only a few times. I'm on the fence about whether he's the right coach for UF, but I was actually impressed with what he said. Really liked the remark about spending far more time with the defense. That bodes well. He sounds like a cracker, but a smart one. It was somewhat more Spurrier-esque than Zook-esque.

What little action they showed was impressive. Everybody was practicing with intensity. Driskel was throwing laser beams. Robinson was handling them easily.

Many of us are Florida Crackers but we aren't as dumb as we sound. It's a good way to catch your competition off guard.

Agree w/ your assessment of Muschamp. I'd like him to succeed, and he's definitely been humbled by last season. This season is his audition to see if he's the man or if he bit off more than he can chew. Opening the practices and leaving the OC alone are two huge steps for him.

I'm hoping the young talent we have matures quickly and fills their roles as expected....and Roper can get the most out of these guys. (I don't want to mention injuries!).....

Only one of those you mentioned is a factual issue, the other is just speculation from those wanting someone to blame for our former OC's sucking, as if they couldn't suck all on their lonesome, pease (baylor) weiss (ND & kansas).

There has never been any reports to the contrary about champ "handcuffing" the OC. Only speculation from pitchfork ninjas venting on champ. :) respectfully that is lol.

Now opening practice was nice, maybe champ is all warm and fuzzy inside and wanted to share his excitement.

    Or save his job.....

(Hiring those two shltty OC's has nothing to do with the head coach either) ;)

Actually I think Pease had some excellent game plans after Murphy couldn't play. They were all the same: "Let's be scared to death of letting Skyler pass." (It was the same strategy used by the Denver Broncos when Tebow was there.)

Never said he's not to blame for hires, but to think that's the same thing as forcing the oc to scrap his playbook just to run it up the middle and don't run anything successful is silly. In hindsight it's easy to say but at the time not many people had problems with the hires because they were big/hot names.

Atlanta had a minor-league baseball team called the Atlanta Crackers. Had nothing to do with food.
