    Point Guard:

Kasey Hill will get the significant playing time here but Hill battled injury twice last season and was out of the line up then. Who will be the main PG back up?
#45 PG Chris Chiozza? or 6'6" Devin Walker?

    Shooting Guard:
    6'4 200 Mike Frazier II vs #35 SG 6'5 205 Brandon Francis

Frazier is the clear starter but Francis is too talented of a player to just sit on the bench. Frazier played about 17 min/G as a freshman backing up Boynton & Rosario - Francis should also get about the same amount of playing time.

    Small Forward:
Dorian Finney-Smith vs #23 Devin Robinson

I think that this will be one of the more interesting position battles for playing time on this Florida team. So many of the UF players can play multiple positions: i.e, SF/PF, PG/SG, SG/SF, PF/C!

    http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/98982/position-battles-small-forwards

I think Robinson may end up being the starter here because of his more consistent shooting while DFS will continue to be a 6th man backing up both the 3 & 4. DFS excells as a rebounder a quality that is needed.

    Power Forward:
Dorian Finney-Smith vs. Alex Murphy vs. Jon Horford

I am a bit confused here - Will Chris Walker play PF or center? The pundits seem to think center.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/tag/_/name/2014-position-battles

    Center:
Chris Walker vs Damonte Harris vs Jon Horford
A question lingering in my mind is if C.Walker will be physically ready to compete next season. With so many athletic players at the position, can Florida develop the big man to big man passing game.

I appreciate your analysis, but I think we need to see the freshman actually pl;ay in a college game before we designate any one of them as a starter. Or even being able to contribute meaningful minutes.

That's how we're going to get under the scholarship limit. Two guys at the same position will simply just have to become one. Brandone Frazier is going to be a real complete player!

Predict starters will be: C = Harris or Horford; PF = Walker; SF = DoDo; SG = Frazier; PG = Hill.

I don't know why everyone is so quick to put DFS at the three. He was a four at VT and played almost entirely there a year ago. He was our best rebounder, too, and most of those boards came in traffic in the paint, where he would play defensively as a four. He doesn't attack the basket or have Prather's handle offensively, nor does he run pick and rolls. He was at his best offensively on catch and shoot stuff and passing on the perimeter off pick and pops. I personally don't like him at all at the three, but think he is a matchup nightmare for opponents at the four.

I am sort torn on Walker. He has all the skills to be a dynamite four, but putting him at the five does a lot for us at both ends. First, it gives a guy there to protect the rim at all times rather than often floating around the perimeter to defend stretch fours, pick and pops, or pick and rolls off perimeter ball screens. Second, the ball screen actions we run with a five defending him would be lethal. Most collegiate fives simply cannot stay with him, either in transition or in the halfcourt. Putting him at the five for at least a thing majority of his minutes would really open up things for our handlers and shooters off screens because you just couldn't hedge or switch off Walker.

So my vote, depending on the Harris situation, would be Walker at the five and DFS at the four, with that three sort of an open spot. We can shuttle in smaller guys like Devon Walker, Frazier, and even Francis earlier in the year, but then Murphy once he becomes eligible and Robinson once he finds a groove. Of course, Harris could change that dynamic entirely.

I loved him in "With Honors." Great in "The Mummy," too. Didn't realize he played basketball, though.

Can't wait to see the full force of our depth in action next year.
Looking forward to this more than another shaky football season.

Agree except I'd expect more Horford than you've got.

I was thinking the same thing. No way he transfers his last year to us just to sit the bench like that.

Didn't you see Bedazzled? "Well you go out there and you give 110%, and you want to play good, and you hope you play good...I think we played pretty good tonight"

Billy knew he had an opportunity to get a 2015 center and beyond and it was going to get done with the last scholarship. That was the plan all along.

He could have easily passed on the one and done Horford and not had a scholarship predicament for 2014-15. Horford's scholly replaced Harris'. There are simply not enough minutes for THREE centers. Harris is gone.

Horford and Walker will man the middle.

By playing Harris or Horford at the 5 you free up Walker to play like a bigger version of Taj Gibson for the Bulls. So my starting five barring explosive freshmen performances in the pre season would be -

    Harris/Horford/C Walker 5
    Walker/Murphy/Smith/Robinson 4
    Smith/Robinson/D. Walker 3
    Frazier/Francis/Carter/Graham 2
    Hill/Chioza/Carter/Walker 1

Yeah, it sure seems the logical move from the outside. I mean, out of 14 guys, one of them has proven mostly unwilling to do the basic things required to be a contributor. Sure there may be lots we don't know, but what we do know seems pretty simple to me.

    I'm with you rserina.

    My probable depth chart is:

    C - Chiozzo/Hill/Robinson
    PF - DFS/C. Walker/Harris/Horfored6t r
    SG - Frazier/Carter (if he isn't a medical)/Francis
    PG - Harris/Horford/C. Walker/D. Walker/Graham (if he isn't a medical)/Hill/Chiozzo

How would you like to see Hill and Chiozzo starting at the 4 and 5.

By the way, for those who might actually take this seriously (hopefully very few), I am joking.

I expect this as well. Just right now Harris is a question mark so I just put them in alphabetical order.
