Urban has a conundrum on his hands too. He only has a senior class of 10. He already has 9 commits with no QB and have yet to address OL and WR (outside Garrett wilson)

He has to make major cuts to even sign a remotely full class. He and Saban are the Shaulin Masters at grey shirting. Hell make it work.

Something does not pass the smell test with the Belk deal.

The biggest impact player may be QB Dru Brown going to OK State from Hawaii. He should fit like a glove.

Belk was a longtime SC fan, and all of the crystal balls on the 247 sites had Belk signing with South Carolina. He takes 1 visit to Clemson and commits and completely shuts down his recruiting. Many insiders were very suprised he did this, including some Clemson insiders.

Fast forward to now... The rumor was that his mom was sick and Dabo agreed to let him transfer wherever he wanted to including hated rival South Carolina.. The problem.... Why did the Belk family get a lawyer to get this done?

    It's really fishy...

Nebraska: Scott Frost has seen 5 players transfer out of the program since the end of spring practice, including 4 offensive and 1 defensive player. Ben Miles, Les Miles' son, is one of the transfers.

Michigan State: 8 players have announced plans to transfer since the end of the season.

Clemson: Former 5-star QB, Hunter Johnson, will transfer out of the program after falling to #3 on the depth chart w/ the arrival of 5-star Trevor Lawrence.

Good stuff. I was going to post the Nebraska info. To me, the MSU transfers are alarming. 8 with no coaching change? Weird. Any idea where Hunter rison is headed? I haven't looked in awhile.

The MSU transfers are not surprising at all, given what has been going on up there. I'd expect more, to be honest with you.

I haven't really followed where any of the MSU or Nebraska kids are going. I'm curious if the Michigan State kids will be allowed to play immediately. That would be huge for any school getting one of the transfers.

Since we didn't go after Burrow I highly doubt we go after the Clemson kid...but it will be interesting to see where he goes.

If only they had that doctor examine Defensive Tackles on the football team. There would be no more doctor. And I don't say that in jest.

Alabama: denied OL Brandon Kennedy 's appeal to be allowed to transfer to an SEC school (he wants to go to Tennessee, but also asked to visit Auburn). He's a grad transfer w/ 2 years eligibility.

He's visiting USC and UGA this week apparently. Would be surprised if he ends up anywhere but SC.

He’s on an unofficial to USC right now. The only way he ends up elsewhere is our compliance dept finds evidence there was tampering between one of our coaches and Belk.

SC wants to make sure everything is good to go before they admit him.

Think a kid should be allow to transfer to any school not on your schedule during remaining playing eligibility. The only reason to not allow is knowledge of schemes and playbook. Still weak argument, as coaches can freely move to other SEC programs without seeking permission and players move in the NFL all the time with knowledge of playbooks, ...

In fact, of course, this was his big problem at UF. Signing HUGE classes in 2006 & 2007, and then very small classes in 2008 & 2009 due to scholarship limits.

Saban had only been at Alabama a few years in 2009, so Urban hadn't had time to examine how Saban cleared roster space. He's got it rolling at Ohio State though....

Tennessee: (from SDS) LB Darrin Kirkland Jr. announced on social media that he is transferring. Kirkland, a junior, was expected to compete for a starting LB spot this coming season, and his loss is not only a surprise, but it’s a big one.

The Indianapolis, Indiana, native has recorded 111 career tackles at Tennessee, and he was an All-SEC freshman team selection in 2015. He sat out this spring after coming off an injury. He missed the 2017 season after missing half of 2016 due to injury.

I doubt he was pushed out. Probably not the same after multiple injuries and saw the writing on the wall (i.e. riding the bench). Probably ends up at an FCS.

UGA: preferred walk-on QB Stetson Bennett announced he was transferring to a JUCO, leaving only 2 QBs on the roster (there is another walk-on).

There are several schools going into camp w/ only 2 QBs, which is surprising. We only have 3, and one is a 2-star who probably should be a preferred walk-on. We do have a couple of walk-ons though.
