Good question.....bad answer! Halapio is truly missed but DJ is a major stud. Once he went out, Driskel was getting blindsided regularly. We also miss Green at RT. This team is a running team with its 1st string O-line. We only had 1-2 healthy starters in the second half against UM. If we can get the O-line healthy again....watch out!

    Yep.

After the game, ALL of the players interviewed said, when asked, they'd be over this game by the next day and on to TN.

Now that's a nice stock answer, but just once more, I'd like to have as player come out and say they are sorry, and will never forget the pain of this game and they will play like never before to make sure it never, ever happen again.

Elam. Early communication issues likely would not have been an issue. And, hard to believe the long TD pass would have gotten behind him. That said, Maye will be a good one.

Not Halapio. He is avg. The Oline just didn't execute their assignments as a unit for the most part. Several sacks, hurries for JD, under 3 ypc for the RBs. A different rt guard is not going to totally change that. Maybe if we had him and Chaz Green on the rt side...maybe we could have had a few less penalties. Man down man up.

I haven't watched too much of Halapio in the running game because I was always so pissed about his overall play, which was probably based on pass plays. We certainly opened up some running lanes last year that we haven't this year. The o-line remains a huge problem area for UF. Moore was a tackle in HS & at Nebraska, and while he may be talented enough to play some guard, having him inside wasn't helping our run attack (not to mention all of the holds he had.)

Funny how being a lineman has no glamor to it and yet it is so very critical to running or passing.

DJ was beaten badly by Tyriq McCord when he was in the game also....WE DO NOT HAVE A STUD TACKLE......yet. Neither Green, who has been here 4 or 5 years now, and is still not a bona fide "starter' nor DJ, who probably IS one year away from being an adequate LT is going to provide the protection on a every down basis that is needed for this team to be able to throw the ball 30 or so times a game......

If you noticed when we ran repeatedly into the middle of the line there was always a UM LB waiting.....unblocked at that.....that is the reason we averaged 2.8 YPC...INSTEAD OF 3.5 OR 4.5 or even 5.0, plain and simple !!! That is what Halapio does...Yes, he is not a very good pass blocker, we know that, BUT we are not a very good pass blocking team as a whole, right ?

All of our olinemen are average at best. This is not a knock on them and I appreciate the fact that they are here and want to be Gators

Am wondering if we really have any SEC caliber running backs? We averaged 2.8 yards per carry. Anything under 4.0 per carry means trouble.
