If you were to pick one guy on offense and one guy on defense to be team leaders, who would they be?

    Defense: Fowler
    Offense: Kelvin Taylor.

The offensive leader just about HAS to be Driskel. If not, the offense could be sub-par again.
    Defense: VH III

Another leader would be Trey Burton, who I thought was a senior last year, but he's listed as a SR for 2014. Is this correct?

I think Trey is a senior, but I could be wrong.

I think JD would be the likely choice or maybe Matt Jones on offense. I don't know what these guys personalities are like, so it's kind of hard for an outsider to make that call. Too much going on in around the team that we can't experience, so it's hard to say.

Back to Trey, seems like a guy Belichick could use in his system. A good athlete that can be put into a lot of different roles, smart, fast and good size guy too.

Thanks. You must be right, because Trey is listed on the 2014 roster. Agree about the personality issue and admit that I know nothing about that either. Interesting point about the Trey to the Pats. Hope he ends up getting a shot there or elsewhere.

Trey Burton graduated, I believe. He played in 2010, and hasn't used any redshirts

That's what I initially thought. So is this a mistake?

Fowler should be the leader on defense this season because he's definitely earned it with his play.

On offense, that's a bit harder since no one's really consistently distinguished themselves with their play. I'd love for it to be Driskel because strong QB leadership in the huddle is often the difference between a good offense and a great offense.

Yes. Clay is younger and it has them both as seniors. Trey is gone. Didn't he get hurt early in the seminoles game to finish his career?

Offense: Agree it has to be Driskel. His leadership, if learned, will show through the entire offense stating on the O-line.

Defense: I actually look to LB to be the leader of the defense. I think Morrison needs to be the "barker" of the defense. His intensity and leadership will be the difference.

No brainer on offense. Driskel ......Has to be him.

On defense, there's a few to pick from. I'd go with the VH3. Just a phenomenal CB/athlete.

    No pun intended of course:)

I think it would have to be fowler, he has sorta taken over easley ' s place as defensive leader. He even passed on the proverbial "torch" or. In this case the Chucky doll.

Offense should be Driskel but I could see Quinton dunbar stepping up being one of the senior team representatives.

Ok, so after reading through this thread, is it safe to assume we want Clay Burton to be our offensive leader?? :D

On offense, I agree with the majority that we really need to see the leader be JD. But to date, I haven't seen that. Being the guy leading a no huddle offense it really has to be him on the field, or we won't have the on field leadership that we need.

We need leadership within position groups as well. For the OL, my gut feel is that maybe Garcia will be that kind of guy. For the receivers, probably Dunbar. For the backs? Brown is the senior and could certainly lead from a work ethic standpoint, but I don't think he'll be on the field a lot this fall. Not sure personality wise among KT, Jones and company who would be most likely, but would lean towards KT.
