This is an excellent article on how the Christian right loves to attack people with facts if those facts go against what they believe. Of course eating their own has become more and more commonplace in the Pub Party now that the Christian right has hooked up with the rest of the TPers.

At least the Republicans can think for themselves instead of being fed talking points by the messiah.

Bill, I'm not taking up for what he posted and haven't even read it. However there is more totalk about on TH than the ACA or Obama for that matter. I don't think anyone could look at the board and think he and it are not well covered.

    1. It is ridiculous to claim we're only supposed to talk about one thing here.
    2. It's hard to imagine there are people out there on the religious fringe even wackier than Robertson.

Creationists debating the age of the Earth. This is news? It's been going on for ages (maybe even 6,000 years). To characterize this suddenly as a "civil war" among Christian right-wingers means that someone is desperate for material in writing his columns.

there is comfort and a sense of being a member associated with being part of a flock that moves in lock step though. independent thought and responsibility is hard work. some are herd animals, some are mustangs. US used to be mustangs but has been transformed and "domesticated" into being herd animals

Well said. The pointof this thread is seemingly for pot-stirring purposes only.

I mean, I wouldn't, personally. Can't speak for others, clearly some others from both sides do.

    Chomp,

    Ever told a lie?

    Ever stolen anything (even small)?

Ever used God's name as a cuss word?

Ever looked at a woman with lust?

Thought so. So what are you going to do on Judgement Day? Methinks THAT should be your bigger issue rather than bashing Christians, yes?

I fail to see the Christian bashing in the opening post. The article is about two different takes on the age of the world by ultra right winged Christians. And the fact that they are technically going after one of the most hardline and unfortunately influential mouthpieces they have.

When I clicked on this thread I thought it was going to be about him having cancer or something. You seriously think a war of words is a "real b****" for a public figure? If so, then I hope for your sake that you never come under criticism in the news media.

Make no mistake, I'm not a Robertson fan. In fact, I take issue with the claims that he's one of the more influential voices on the "hard right". If it looks that way it's only because he's saying things a lot of people already agreed with. There's a reason he sold the Family channel and had to contractually stipulate that they couldn't cancel his show.

yeah the Christian Right is killing our economy, causing our healthcare costs to skyrocket, and creating a unsustainable deficit, but do continue.
