Nice. They need to have Asik off in the corner pouting though. He looks a little too happy in the back.

IMO if the Lakers were smart this is what they would do/would have done:

    1) They should have gotten Asik in a sign and trade instead of just letting Howard walk. I will never understand why sign and trades exist but since they do, they greatly benefit the team losing a free agent. They didn't want to do this because they "didn't want to help Howard out of LA". Sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

    2) Amnesty Kobe. He is not worth 30 million. Sure you will pay it anyway but at least it won't count toward the cap. There are very few players who are. You are losing a guy at the end of his career who is getting off a MAJOR injury and may miss a good chunk of time next year. It isn't personal. It is business.

    3) Keep Pau and Nash and run a ton of pick and roll. Trade MWP. You will only get a year or two out of Nash and IMO you will get 3-4 out of Pau but that is enough to keep you afloat while you use your new cash flexibility and draft picks to build the team up.

My wife is from Houston, so I tend to agree.
