Yet Plumlee makes it...Chandler wasted his time
Rudy gay blows and has been there for like a week. What a joke
Usual caveat - I don't follow the NBA tons. But I'm surprised. Was I off in thinking Parsons might start? I could be wrong, but I wonder if K keeping Irving and Plumlee might have ANYTHING to do with recruiting or loyalty. I actually like coach K and could be wrong, but I wonder. Just seems like there's an argument to make for Lillard over Irving and either Parsons over Plumlee.
I just saw Parsons as being the ultimate complementary player at a position with relatively little depth on a team full of scorers that he'd supplement nicely. Better than what I know of Gay.
I thought Parsons had a great chance to make the squad with Durant and George out. I figured one of Parsons/Hayward would make the team as they are similar players and can both play 2 positions and stretch the floor. I didn't think he would be starting though. Rudy Gay is basically the only wing on the team which is somewhat surprising since he was barely in camp. That being said I guess Coach K needed his scoring.
Starting lineup for me would be Rose/Curry/Harden/Faried/Davis is my guess. I believe Chandler got cut because Drummond and DeRozan had such good showing in the scrimmages that Coach K had to keep them on the team.
Gay blew his way into acceptance.
Coach K decided to go big with Drummond to help beat Spain.
Some guards and forwards became expendable in the process.
I think keeping Plumlee and Irving was recruiting related. The man is very calculated.
Plumlee sucks. I don't see him even getting a minute of action other than in games where the US is winning by 40 in the 2nd half.
It is pretty clear in hindsight that Parsons being cut was the plan from the start. When Paul George went down they immediately went out to find a person to fill the roster spot. I am wondering what the point of Chandler even being on the extended roster was other than to scare other players into taking it seriously.
This is a surprise. Seems like most commentators expected Parsons to make the team. Coach K kept more big men than people were anticipating.
I'm just glad Hayward didn't make the team over Parsons or I would have gone ballistic
Krdgrjfjxhazyic is rat. I will be so glad when he is done coaching the senior team. At least they finally brought in a real coach for the defense this year.
