I know I started this in the past because a lot of us are big Bolts fans, so I will get it rolling again. I meant to start this Thursday, but...

Nice opening win against the Devils.
Defense needs to improve during the playoffs, but this team has everything needed to win it all.

Can Vassy play at an elite level in his first full go as a playoff Goalie?
Can Kuch find his hot hand?
Will Tyler continue to step up his game during post season play?

Here's to a fun several weeks! Go Bolts!

I hate Tampa. But they are loaded and definitely fun to watch. Go Leafs, Preds, Sharks, Jets.

If you have to limit ticket sales to certain zip codes in order to ensure your home crowd is an advantage, that's where I lose respect for the organization. Couple that with the FACT that a lot of Lightning fans are bandwagon Northeasterners who show their true colors when their real favorite teams (Rangers, Flyers) are doing better than Tampa.

Many NHL teams do the ticket sales thing. But it isn't our fault all the yankees hate their hometown and move south.Bolts sell out every night regardless pf opponent and have for years

BTW Tampa did that in 2015 and killed the policy.

Pfftt... If you don't have respect for the bolts organization, I'm not sure a what to say. It's one of the best in all of sports.

And restricting sales is a great example of that. It means that the true bolts fans get the tickets. Which in turn flies in the face of your claim there are no real bolts fans.

You are in outer space on this.

We will just have to agree to disagree. I've probably seen more games in Tampa than you have, because your opinion makes sense- when the team is winning. Unlike you, I've been to games when they are not doing so hot, usually because I want to see the other team. I've been to Montreal games at the St. Pete Times Forum where the arena is split 50/50 between Montreal and Tampa fans. So no, the policy isn't to "save tickets" for occasional fans, its to ensure home field advantage. Otherwise, there's a really good chance the home team is drowned out by opposing fans.
So if you wanted to see the Gators play in Knoxville, you'd be cool with UT not selling tickets to people with Florida zip codes? I have bought premium front row seats at Tampa games only to be told I couldn't wear another team's jersey, although the other 8 NHL arenas I've been to have no such policy.
As far as being in outer space, there's no need to get personal. Just say you like a team because they are down the road from your house, no shame in that, and they have done a great job in scouting, no doubt. But you don't get the right to tell me how I should feel.

You really don't know what you are talking about. And you need to stop making assumptions about me, then basing your arguments on those assumptions.

I live in Tampa and guarantee I've seen far more games than you. I go regularly, and have since they began in st.Pete, and my firm has a box. So likely, I've seen more in a season than you have ever seen.

Tampa has consistently had one of the better attendance records in hockey, contrary to your anecdotal history.

There are tons of bolts fans in Tampa. Sure some were transplants... That's one the reasons it works so well here. And sure, some still have allegiance to a team they followed for 40 years. That doesn't make them somehow non fans.

And if your heartburn is somehow about a team building up its home advantage then that's really strange, frankly. But as Tilly told you, the policy is gone.

The lightning are one of the best run franchises in all of sports. We are fortunate to have Vinik as an owner... It somehow blocks the stench from the rays group.

What's that quote from Spurrier about others hating your team....It fits here.

    Cheers.

Yeah, must suck watching the 2nd greatest player in your team's history build a colossus in Tampa. Even worse when you consider he probably isn't coming home either. He's just got it too good (ownership, lifestyle, freedom) in Tampa.

Exactly. Only real dip in attendance was during the Melrose/Koules/Barrie debacle. Really was the low point for the franchise.

Ok, I surrender. I only started off by saying I dislike Tampa but acknowledged their talent and scouting. I don't see how you have done anything in your comments to convert me. You insult me, then express support of a really loser-mindset ticket policy. You don't have to agree with me, but I don't see why you have to take offense at my opinion.

I'll have to take your word that the policy has changed. I have not returned to NoNameArena since they enforced that policy on me. For $2,000, I should have the right to wear any NHL jersey I want.

I'm perfectly happy for you to have your opinion. I also have the right to express my reaction to what I felt was an extremely poor justification for a very strong opinion.

Maybe if you had just said, man I hate the lightning because they wouldn't let me purchase tickets because of that policy, I would have reacted differently.

But you basically trashed the whole organization and fan base. And for that I said you were in outer space... Which certainly is not much of a personal insult. And no worse than you contending that I must not know what I was talking about because I hadn't been to games like you.

So, yeah I get you hated that policy. You are entitled to your opinion but when you state it that way, you are likely to get a strong response.

    Cheers again and go bolts!

And let me add...I'm a fan so it's kind like you are a Nole to me. So apologies to my fellow gator.

@ArtDeco in fairness the for you point to be true those seats would be empty if visiting fans are kept out, but they are filled....by Bolts fans. Look at the thousands that camp outside to just be there.

Visiting fans filling Amalie and The Trop are just indicators of how good of a place it is to live or how crappy it is to live in the Northeast. But the bolts fill the place and did every game last season...when they missed the playoffs.

Man. I think Coop made a mistake pulling Vassy at the end. Bolts were already on the power play. It killed the chance.
