Congrats on your twin girls my friend. Just think of all the late basketball you can watch rocking them both to sleep! I know they will love basketball!

Wow. Congrats AKA! I have a 13 month old girl. She is the best, but the thought of two at once might have been more than my wife and I could have handled - and she was a pretty easy baby. Twice the blessing though for you! No question about that.

I saw the thread . . . and smiled! Thanks everyone.
I already have a 4-year-old son, so it will be a little wild. I am happy to report that I did not miss the game on Friday . . . watching it in the hospital room as my wife and kids slept! LOL!

    Congratulations AKA and spouse.

With girls, and especially twins, your task will be considerably easier than those of us who had to deal with boys. Babies need relatively constant companionship any time they are not asleep and having a twin assures that this is true, which reduces the load on the parents. Also, until they turn about 12 or 13, girls are infinitely easier than boys to deal with because their language and social skills are so very high relatively.

So, treasure these first 11 years AKA, and be prepared for substantially increased complexity when these girls become targets for the Arrows that young males are. Ideally, they are exceedingly UGLY, which will somewhat diffuse that Arrow effect, although it will also lessen their positive feedback outside of home, and sometimes inside of home, so the net effect is pretty much the same.

Likely, you guys will be able to get more than 3-hours sleep per night during the next six months to a year, something my wife and I were utterly unable to do thanks to a heavily Vata 27-week premature boy.

It is just flat out amazing being a daddy! When my little girls says Go Cats, I just can't stop smiling.

So according to THEM I have 9 more years before hell breaks loose! Lol

I have two girls, wow, they were fun to raise and still they call home every day. So congrats on twins, you will have your hands full. I remember having just one child, it was easy, then the second came out and the game was on. It will change your life.

I like the story of them sleeping and you watching the game. I did something like that, when the first of mine was born, my wife was in the throws of 36 hrs of labor. During this time, the LSU/Florida football game was during these hours. My mother and I told my wife we needed something to eat, we went out to a sports bar, ate and watched part of the game. We came back and her labor was still in play!
