I thought we had to keep WM to salvage the recruiting class?

Keeping Muschamp was never about recruiting. Keeping him was the worst possible recruiting move we could have made. This class will suffer. Next class will suffer as well after he gets canned. Unless of course he manages to win 8 games and keeps his job. In that case we will get another so so class in a loaded year in FL.

We kept Muschamp because Foley doesn't want to dish out 8 million + a new coach's salary.

There were 2 teams ranked pre-season in the top 5 who are in our division who had easier schedules. It's your fault for thinking we were going to waltz our way into Atlanta. Granted none of us made it, but that's college football. Every year is a crapshoot, especially when injuries are factored in..

Maybe another program offered him a starting position at qb, due to the exposure he got from starting this season, when JD went down. (Idk, just guess'n...or hoping).

You mean its my fault for assuming our coach would surely recognize how fortunate we were to go 11-2 with an offense ranked in the 100's and would make major overhauls in the offseason whether to the staff or the design of the scheme and also would expedite the development of star recruits to inject life into a listless offense and that certainly he wouldn't rest on last year's laurels and proceed with the same approach which essentially eschewed an effective passing game? Yeah, my bad. I did all of that. And now we are replacing our OC. Go figure.

The same thing was said before last season too. Turned out to be horrible! I will always root for the gators but after all the smoke blown about how great our players were for spring and pre season practice I'm done getting trolled till season starts and they prove it in the field, period.

I think the only thing that will get me excited about next season is if Grier is named the starter at the beginning of fall practice.

Hmmmm, didn't I read those last year?
    I know I DIDN'T see:
    "Lack of O Playmakers Worrisome"
"JD Treading Water in New System"
    "O-Line: "Potential" = No Achievement"
"O Freshmen Languishing on Depth Chart"
"Lack of Development is a Red Flag"

Wow, someone else who is a rational thinker. This season, even with a new OC, is just a band aid to slow the hemorrhaging from the gaping wounds that Chump will leave behind.

That's another myth. Muschamp will be ranked at or near the top of every HC hotseat list going into next season. Not good!

I hope Cook comes to UF. Why would he though? Chump is gone by mid season and we are in a free fall.

Are you a butt nugget or what? I am not a Nole Troll, I am a Gator fan, get over yourself. My rationalizations are just my opinions. You sound like a fifth grader calling someone a troll btw.

Okay "lawdogg", thanks for laying down the law on message board etiquette so that I won't be confused. You are obviously an under cover troll detective working vigorously with the Campus Police Department to root out any negative comments about our beloved Gators by classifying all said offenders as trolls. It is only then, that all real Gators fans can flood the message boards with the exuberance of non stop gushing about our 4-8 team. Thanks again for setting me straight "Lawdogg"! woof woof

I am optimistic for next season. Then again, I'm always excited about my Gators.

That blind loyalty aside, I think it is rational to be optimistic. Most teams in the East have some transition pain coming. We're bringing back a lot of our two-deep...including our #1's at many offensive skill positions that got hurt.

On offense, I think JD will impress those that want to write him off. I think our wide receivers will take a step forward. I like our backfield, obviously. I just hope our line takes a big step forward.

My guess is, next year's team would beat be a +17 favorite over this year's team.

My apologies for the doom-free content.

    LoL, now that is funny.

Hurtin4certain, some people take their Gator football very seriously and will not tolerate any kind of jokes no matter how funny they are nor any kind of criticisms now matter how valid they are.

If we cannot poke fun or call them out when they stink what are we going to do after a 4-8 season? Its all in good fun.

Have to think we'll be picked behind all but UT and KY.
