When you get to the bottom of this story she states that the Trayon Martin incident shows that whites have little regard for Black's lives. I find that statement completely ridiculous and can't help but think that with all the black on black murders - they themselves have little value for their own lives.

I just read the article and she does not state that at all.

Seriously, dude, get off Breitbart. It's bad for your soul.

OBOB - Don't tell me what to read.

Winfrey then suggested that the “shooting of Trayvon Martin” was a commentary on the value Americans place on black life.

Oprah and other celebrities should stick to what they know...providing entertainment for the rest of us. I could care less what an athlete, movie star, tv personality, rock star or sports figure thinks about anything other than the narrow little area they play in.

No matter who wrote anything about her, I wouldn't call Opie exactly sympathetic to the plight of white people.

As distinguished from the other kind.

Which seems to be her life mission. Distinguishing, that is.

This may or may not be true and I'm personally pretty indifferent toward Oprah, but I don't see why it would ever be fair to put words in someone's mouths.

That's reasonable. If someone says something objectionable, you could criticize what they actually said rather than altering it.

I agree about the putting words, thing.

The rest was my observation based on her entire body of work, and based on her entire body of attitude. It radiates. IMO.

Read her words, don't invent them. She did not say values placed on black life, but on life in general.

    from the article posted:

Winfrey then suggested that the “shooting of Trayvon Martin” was a commentary on the value Americans place on black life.

if that isn't what she said then provide a link with the correct statement and all will be good

Click on the link in the article. She did not say anything about black life nor was there anything in that exchange about blacks.

This is why you shouldn't get news retold through a partisan filter.

    ...

So again ... based on what is actually available he has extrapolated meaning that was not expressed. Whether you're a fan of Oprah or not, there's no reason to put words into her mouth.

at this moment I have zero idea if words were put in her mouth or not-we will have to wait until the entire article comes out-I would hope the writer of the Breibart article had gotten his facts from someone who heard the entire interview-it would not surprise me if she said it

From the interview it's clear she shares Obama's gift of exaggerating numbers.
