    +9 vs. LSU
    +9 vs. UGA
    -3 vs. Missouri
    -9 at Vandy
    -4.5 at Tennessee

    That's 5 games we're pretty big underdogs.

The common theme is we need to win at least 8 games....most have even said 9 wins.

So, which game/games do we win that we're not supposed to? Obviously, these point spreads will change as the season moves along...but at this point we're expected to lose those 5 games....and the other lined games include two that are less than 5 points.

Seems like pretty safe spread guesses... not surprised at all by the FSU & Alabama spread.

Those spreads are jokes; however I like them. They'll change as the year goes. We're the same spread as Clemson and Oklahoma State so I think they just picked a number and stuck with it. Call me what you want but I think the addition of Roper and Summers are huge and there are two games I see as possible losses; bama and fsu. I do think we can beat both though. I think we beat everybody else. This is do or die and I think Muschamp and company handle business.

There's no way we'll end up being underdogs of that magnitude at home vs. USCe and LSU, or UGA at a neutral site (barring catastrophic injuries like last season).

5 losses might mean a new head coach for the Gators come 2015.

The line that stands out to me is FSU -24 over ND. Are they 24 points better than ND?

Another one is Boise +9 vs. Ole Miss. New coach, but they have a solid roster.

Vandy +24 at UGA stands out.

    Clemson +9 at UGA.

I wouldn't call them a "joke". Vegas knows what they're doing. They don't fill up those big hotels and turn on those lights by putting out bad lines. In fact, any one of us could go to the Golden Nugget right now and play any of those lines.

Yes, the lines will change as the season progresses. I imagine last year when we were 0-0 and ranked #10 in the nation those lines were a lot different than they were in week 10 of the season.

On that note, if I had a gun to my head I'd take UF +21 at Bama....not saying we'd win, but definitely cover.

I'd also take UF +9 vs. UGA. Again, not saying we'd win but certainly cover.

Vegas just did you guys a favor. UF is vastly underrated. Those lines are a joke. I would not be surprised if Winston's numbers go way down without Kenny Shaw and Kelvin Benjamin. He still has Rashad Greene and O'Leary and some good backs and 4 5th's of the OL back but JW might be a little fat and a little big in the head if he stops working. Even Dan Marino had a bad senior season at Pitt. I saw parts of Bama's spring game on ESPN and I'm telling you they do not look head and shoulders better than some of the other teams on their schedule. Ohio St. 17 over VT is BS. VT will give Ohio St. a good game. UGA 9 over Clemson is generous too.

    It should be fun.

It is hot. The NBA Finals are almost over. We should soon be hearing a lot about tennis and golf all of which means football season is just around the corner.

Again, go read my last post on Tebowism calling those lines a joke. If you think so, go to Vegas and put some money down and then post a pic of your ticket. It's called "gambling"....it's not called "winning". If it was called "winning" EVERYBODY would be doing it!

VT is getting 17 vs. OSU...while Navy is getting 14. VT has problems on offense. I'd stay away from that one. That could get out of hand quick. OSU can score....but, VT does have a good D (or they did last year). Agree w/ you on UGA/Clemson. Way too many points.

They fill those hotels up the same way every casino does; people like to gamble. You cannot tell me they actually did their homework while making these lines. They didn't account for anything. Like Cecil mentioned, Winston lost some good talent on offense that won't be easily replaced. Also look at who they lost on defense. That team lost a lot of talent and their defensive coordinator. Our team is healthy (hopefully it stays that way), we brought in two of the best teachers in the game, and we have a QB capable of winning; maybe he'll take the next step in this offense. If you go down the rosters we look just as good. It all depends on what you think Roper will do with our offense and I think he'll do good enough for us to be middle of the pack; I expect better but I'll be fine with that. Imo, they're being very lazy with their lines. Okie St, Clemson, and Us all 17pt underdogs? No way.

Okay, then same as I said to Cecil. Go to Vegas (or get someone you know out there) to lay some real money for you. Again, if it was that easy EVERYONE would be doing it.

I don't need to bet to disagree with their lines; or even call them out for it. I happen to believe they didn't do their homework and just tossed a number out there. I'd be curious to see how many people actually put money on that. I don't bet on sports; I stick to blackjack.

I also never stated anything was easy; I just don't see where any logic was put behind that other than UF went 4-8 and fsu won it all. I think a lot of people would take issue with those lines.

I have a good feeling about this year and think that we'll beat some of those teams. And if we lose to Bama or FSU, it won't be by as much as those predictions above.

Based on past experiences and the fact we travel to Tuscaloosa and Tallahassee, I don't disagree with those spreads. The last time we played in Bryant-Denny, Urban had his first bout of GERD.

We are playing the last 2 national champs, both in their stadiums.....and we went 4-8 what y'all expect? I would take that bet though, IMO we will play 'em tight. But who knows, I don't make a living on spreads.... vegas does.

Not that I'm sitting here saying we win either game, but how do you think 17pt underdog is correct when looking at both teams? Neither team will field the same team from last year in regards to UF/fsu. Out of curiosity, what spread would you give both if they were neutral sites?

I'm looking at it like I stated above. Fsu lost a lot of talent; last year we played them missing a lot. I just don't see, given the talent levels on both teams, giving the good teachers on the offensive side we hired on, how 17 points makes sense. Obviously they should be favored but not by that much.
