One thing is for sure......Dante Fowler Jr. is by far the best player on our team

    He is an absolute animal.

Patton & Trey Burton are probably our best offensive options currently, but that's not saying a whole lot. Burton is good at everything, but not great at anything (and I'm a huge fan of his). I absolutely love Solomon Patton, but he's basically a Brandon James who gets way more touches.

We really need Jacoby Brissett as our QB this year

    Easley>Fowler

Not sure what Brissett would add? More ints and less running ability?

You must have missed Easley being held all day and still making the play.

For as "steady" as Burton is supposed to be, I feel like he's missed his fair share of plays and coughed up a number of balls in his career.

Yep. Fowler is great, but I don't think he's in the top 3 of our defensive players.

He's also won games for us, and really I haven't seen him cough up much.

Our D is so good I am not ruling this team out of making this a special season. Fowler, Powell, Easley, Roberson, Morrison, Purifoy, VH3...the list is endless. How about Gorman knocking Duke out of the game? If the coaches can figure out a way to get this O to 20 points/ game we will be tough to beat all season.

Jacoby lacked zip on his passes. Had a better awareness and better touch but driskel had more potential so we are going to live with him as we try and develope him. Jed's legs being a big part of the equation

Easley looked like the best player today. As for the Qb observations, I'll pass for now. The coaches tied their wagon to JD, hope it works out.

Therein lies our greatest problem. The best players on the current Gator team are all on defense. Some of our injured O-linemen might have also been listed but right now they are not on the field. Jones and Taylor are stud RB's but they can't go anywhere w/o blocking.

Yes, but this was exactly the problem when Muschamp arrived. We had more players on D. Plus, the defensive players develop quicker. We lacked playmakers and this is the first season some of the young, new recruits are getting onto the field. Jones, Humphries, Robinson, Fullwood, Taylor, etc. Unfortunately, it appears that they will need more time. It is hard to swallow but it is realistic.
