So I was listening to Larry Vetell this after noon, and his partner said something that even Larry was surprised to hear. His partner said that Miami was playing music through the PA all the way up to Driskel snapping the ball. Said it happened numerous times. Larry was flabbergasted. Said that was the first he had heard of it. He went on to say the refs should have intervened, that its an NCAA rule to not allow artificial noise during play. Did anyone that went to the game notice this? I'm NOT trying to justify our TO's or the loss or anything at all. Just curious to know if this happened thoughout the game, or it was just a few isolated incidences.

I live in Oakland and I went to see Ohio State play Cal last weekend. Every now and then the same thing happened when OSU had the ball, I think it's something the stadiums push until someone in the booth warns them otherwise

I didn't notice music on the TV broadcast of UF/UM, but when I was at Sun Life a couple of years ago, I thought the PA volume was excessive. If prohibitions against artificial noise are taken seriously, how does Mississippi State continue to get away with the constant cowbell noise?

I was at the game and that is 100% accurate, the music was playing at times while the Gators were lined up at the line trying to run plays and other times they stopped it while they broke the huddle. It was definitely an infraction. On a side note, the music was completely inappropriate as well as most of it was rap music and you could hear the n word and mfer played throughout several songs.

I was there and the piped in noise was total BS. I felt as if I was watching the NFL. music all the way until we lined up to snap.

What's more ironic is the flash on those crappy scoreboards that noisemakers of any kind will not be tolerated.

And they wonder why Florida has no interest in playing Miami anymore.

UM is a scumbag program that doesn't give a crap about rules. The music/noise violation is no surprise! I hope they get absolutely hammered for all the Nevin Shapiro violations!

I hate music at ball games, other than live bands.

I doubt the music caused us to turn it over 5 times, which is why we lost.

Accurate. PA music was blaring constantly.

Not accurate. The songs were edited.

It was not big-game atmosphere loud there at all. All the noise had a very fake NFL feel to it. I thought Auburn in 2011 was worse (they actually piped in crowd noise as well). I thought of it more as an annoyance to the fans than a distraction to the team. We'll see much worse in Baton Rouge against LSU and in Atlanta against Alabama.

I like it, nothing like the old orange bowl, the place was such a dump and the stands shook, at the Brock Berlin throat slash game, when UM came out of the tunnel they played Welcome to the Jungle, very appropriate, the place went nucking futs, it was
FUN, it is supposed to be fun.

There's a time and place for non-band music at the ball games, and when/if it works with the crowd, it's appropriate (you'll never get everybody agreeing on music selection and what not). But sometimes it feels forced. At the OB it felt natural. At Joe Robbie, it felt forced and unnatural until late in the 4th quarter. I think sometimes this sort of thing is too scheduled at FLORIDA (see BA-DOMP-BOMP-BOMP being played at just about the same time at every home game) instead of letting the atmosphere dictate whether it should be played or not (bobble-head/party like a rockstar at the end of the game).

We beat oursevles by being careless with the ball. Music didn't cause that...our players did. Hopefully the Miami game was an aberration, if not we're in trouble. In a few weeks we'll kow how good we really are.

I sat in the club level, apparently right in front of some of the speakers because they were blaring music well past when they should have. I made a few comments to my wife during the game. They even fed their band through the speakers when they played.

Those of you who were there, did you notice if it was just when UF had the ball or was the music evenly played?
