There you have it, Steele and the computers say scUM will win 10 games!! Seems to me everyone was on the Nole's bandwagon last preseason too. They have to prove on the field they have learned how to win a tough game, until then I'm not impressed.

    Now this I can buy.

That is pretty good. You somehow found a way to ignore all the personnel groupings and alignments shifts and dealing with no playmakers at receiver and a first year starter at quarterback and the new offensive coordinator with first year offensive system and the toughest defensive opposition in the nation and the relative success of playing to our defensive strength and reduced the playcalling to run-pass ratio. Bravo for nuance.

At least it makes me feel better that Donovan isn't the only coach you consider lackluster.

Miami has a good coach in Al Golden. He will have no problem in getting the team up and ready to play the Gators. Much to the chagrin of the doubters of our offense, I believe we win by ball control and wearing them down over four quarters. When asked about why I predicted the game as a tossup while still believing we would win, I knew there several factors that could lead to a Cane upset over us. IMHO generalizations about conference strengths do not make for a strong argument for a win in an away with an intense rival with good talent. Specifics carry more weight with me.

    Pretty much my thoughts.

It's tough to like our schedule compared to our rivals, because it is almost always tougher... by a good deal.

And Mizzou is a trap game.

We received much deserved respect nationally last year by running the gauntlet of an equally tough schedule. Hopefully this season brings that kind of attention.

That is the upside, IF you run the gauntlet.

On the flipside, do UGA or Bama any penalty for having cakewalk paths to Atlanta?

Not as far as I can tell.

I think pease did a good job last year. We never had trouble moving the ball when we had to last year. Even that last drive against Uga should have been a td. Did you guys not read the interview with the anonymous d coordinator from the sec. He said our offense was extremely difficult to prepare for.

I'm expecting very good things from pease in year two.

I don't get it. We had a first-year QB who was very inconsistent. We had no WRs who set the world on fire and our OL wasn't very good in pass protection. But we did have an outstanding RB and the OL was pretty good at blocking for him. So Pease should have been calling passing plays all the time?

Good coaches work with what they have, they don't try to force their system on players who aren't suited for the system. By that standard I think Pease did an excellent job.

I hope both Rserina and Gatorlaw are correct. We will see, as our schedule doesn't duck anybody. If we go 11-1 like last year, than whatever offense we have I will love, coaches too.

Just don't lose to the Dogs again!

As for the first year starting QB in the SEC, I believe Johnny Football was a RS first year starting SEC QB. Just saying, some teams know offense also!

Um........We looked horrible against Georgia, Missouri, ULL, and Louisville. I don't call those offensive performances as being able to move the ball when we needed to.

Number1 we ran the ball down the throats of FSU and LSU wearing down two of the most highly touted defenses in the country. Yes were good enough to go 11-2 and you're unhappy? Let's remember ours is a ball control/field position offense that reduced turnovers from the previous year. Oh yes just a reminder we did all that playing the toughest schedule in the country!

Yes, we looked bad offensively in four games, one of which was with an injured starting quarterback and another considered "horrible" because we uncharacteristically coughed up the ball six times. I am sure no other offense looked bad in four games.

The guy was the first freshman ever to win the Heisman. I would say that isn't exactly normative.

heck, Georgia southern gives teams fits if you take them for granted. anytime we take teams for granted - Louisville - we struggle and/or get beat. so those that think Miami is a cakewalk - well, you get my drift.

    with that said:

    2013 Schedule

    8/31 Toledo- W
    9/7 at Miami- Tossup
    9/14 OPEN DATE
    9/21 Tennessee-W
    9/28 at Kentucky -W
    10/5 Arkansas W
    10/12 at LSU-L
    10/19 at Missouri-Tossup - road game
10/26 OPEN DATE (won't lose today!)
11/2 Georgia (in Jacksonville)-L (need to prove we can beat them before penciling in a 'W')
11/9 Vanderbilt (HC) - trap game w/ a much improved vandy team that's fundamentally sound
    11/16 at South Carolina-L
11/23 Georgia Southern- likely a W - but could be a trap game!!
    11/30 Florida State-toss up!

    5 wins 4 tossups 3 losses
thinking we go 2-2 on the toss up games...predicting 7-5 season
    there! :p
