Miss State hits what should have been a game turning grand slam, but with a BBCOR bat and ridiculous power alleys at TD Ameritrade it's just an out. 1 home run in 51 innings now. But hey, at least the scouts are happy they don't have to work as hard at their job now.

Did I speak too soon? Bottom of the ninth... 2 outs, runner on third.

    5-4 cowbells, ATM.

    New pitcher.

Ridiculous! Two balls that were absolutely smoked and one is an out and one is off the fence. Two nights ago, "Sports Science" did a study and said with the bats and baseballs the distance of a ball hit in AmeriTrade would be cut by 20-25 feet. But if College Baseball used the ball the Major Leagues used it would negate that 20-25 feet.

LSU was screwed out of three homeruns last night too.

And your right about scouts; my college coach hated them with a passion. Called Major League baseball scouts the laziest in any sport. Said that all the All-Star showcases basically did their jobs for them so they could sit back with a gun and say this guy was great.

Schwarber's was a high fly that came down about 10 feet in front of the warning track, so I don't know about that one. Although Hershisher did say that they haven't seen a homer to dead center in the entire 3 years the CWS has been played in this park.

Travis's, on the other hand, was an absolute rocket similar to the one that MSU hit earlier in the game. If those balls aren't going to leave the yard, then what's the point of even having a fence out there?

Anyone have a link to a site showing the original participants in the CWS and the results?

Never realized until recently that the college ball traveled less than the MLB ball. I guess the raised seems helps the pitchers but it makes no sense, especially in the era of dead bats. The bats aren't going to change and that is probably a good thing for pitcher safety if nothing else, but the balls need to change. Time to rely on that old saying "chicks love the longball".

Wes thanks but...I cannot make any sense out of that list. I thought FSU was out.

Who are the eight participants in the CSW please? Thanks in advance.

Another source of information about the CWS is this page from ESPN which shows results and the schedule including where to watch the games.

The SWAC got eliminated 2-0 by the Hoosiers in the Tallahassee Super Regional (one of the few times where having super and Tallahassee in the same sentence is not wrong).

If it's any consolation, and I know it's not, most of us would have rather have had our season suck as bad as yours.

I just realized that Trea Turner is from Lake Worth. How the hell did UF, FSU, and Miami let him get out of the state?
