I decided to look for him again this evening--found some sad news. He was not very old- there are some items on the obit that showed on his account-

Mark Sanders Lamug, born February 27, 1958 in Freeport, NY, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 in bed peacefully in Lake Worth, FL. Married to Cindy in early 1990s. Predeceased by father, Raymundo, November 1992. Survived by mother, Miriam L. Sanders and brother, Donald Sanders of Lake Worth and sister, Deborah K. Holt of New York, NY. In 1978, Mark moved with his parents to Grants, NM. He helped set up a new McDonald's, which set national sales records for first day, first week and first month. In 1979, they moved to Lake Worth. He attended University of Florida, Gainesville in 1981 and 1982, and remained a lifelong Gator Fan. Marked earned an AS in Nursing from Palm Beach Junior College in 1985. He enjoyed working several years at JFK Hospital, Atlantis as a Registered Nurse. Mark was known for his barbecue pork ribs and grilled steaks. With an exquisite palate, he could tell how a dish would taste by looking at its recipe. His mother suffers from senile dementia. The Department of Children and Families said they could not help because there were two able-bodied men in the house. For the last several years, Mark provided most of the care for Mom. Memorial Service Saturday, November 23, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall, 2102 Sixth Avenue South, Lake Worth, FL. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/palmbeachpost/obituary.aspx?pid=168130054#sthash.xpvzr5R6.dpuf

I went to the old forums to grab a few posts, but we had pruned the board and there were no posts from when he was still here.

He was a good member on GC. He joined as a free member 1/1/2008 and a year later as a paying. He loved recruiting and really came up with some good stuff. One year I offered him a free membership for posting more recruiting stuff, but he declined.

Politically he was a firecracker, like many are here. He loved to mix it up and even in the mix ups I do not remember him looking for help from a mod, he would just go toe to toe.

I have been here for 14 years so even though I do not meet many folks I feel I get to know them by their posts, their user names, their account....when they sort of just disappear I will try to find out something-it normally saddens me when I do...

Thought maybe we could call a 24 hour truce in honor of Mark, but he would not have wanted that :) Another Gator gone-and life just goes on.

    RIP!

Thanks for finding and posting this Growl. He was indeed a bit fiery but a good poster and like you said he contributed some good info to the board.

    RIP Old.

    Mark Sanders Lamug R.I.P.

    Condolences to his family.

And he certainly was not very old. I have to admit he was younger than me. I am a War Baby (you don't hear that anymore) and he was a Baby Boomer.

    Very sad news. RIP Mark.

David, thank you for following up. That was a wonderful thing to do if only that we could pay our respects.

Just fair warning, if I suddenly disappear it's because I won the lottery and I no longer know any of you guys/gals.

Edited: Ray, I was just kidding. I'm more likey to invite everyone here on a free week on my new yacht.

He had the most distinctive posting style on Too Hot. His posts could be spotted miles away with it's short paragraphs, overabundant misuse of hyphens, and often excessive length.

-He also popularized the use of circle jerk on the boards.
-He was also steadfast in his beliefs and support for his ideals
-He provided a unique opinion into healthcare due to his workplace

His contributions to this board will be missed. One less person on the left side of the aisle to hear out.

    Godspeed Old

He did a lot of long recruiting class breakdowns if I recall, right?

Anyways, I remember his stuff on TooHot. RIP.

Thanks for finding this, David. Old's absence didn't really trouble me, he sometimes went off the grid because he and his wife so often traveled to various places as nurses. He was certainly a firecracker......he and I went round and round when he first started posting on Too Hot for insulting other posters. He and I discussed caring for our elderly parents not long before his death. He was a great listener and gave me some good advice. I can't believe he's gone.

Great man and great Gator......RIP, Mark!
