Left a lot to be desired. Brown looked like he didn't have any holes to run through or was just tentative about hitting the hole.

Plus, a poor pass protection led the D to knock the ball out of Driskel's hand in the 2d quarter.

I hope we see some real improvement..

The run blocking was good until the 2nd half when Toledo stacked the box daring us to throw.

Pass blocking was inconsistent but had bright spots.

It seemed that holes weren't there and the RBs made it on their own. But we had over 100 yards at the half so we were getting the yards on the ground.

There were holes everywhere. Much work to be done but the line is on the right track.

holes were fine Mack Brown is an average back but he ran hard. Matt Jones would have killed Toledo. DJ got beat on one fumble Mack Brown missed bliiz pick up on the other one

After game one the honest assessment is what it is. The play looks a lot like last year. Hoping for improvement next week. Not good today especially in pass protection.

It looked like they run blocked the line pretty good but the LB's were pluging the holes

What? Driskel had all day to throw when we called passing plays.

I thought the line played fine. Decent holes and good protection besides a couple of gaffes.

Then again we really didn't run many deep passing routes so who knows how they'll hold up when they have to block for a deeper throw.

I'm sure we will have improvement. The pass blocking today won't cut it versus the elite SEC defensive lines. I want to win and dominate as bad as anyone. The positive is we are a good run blocking line. The line was down field all day. Running the ball is a must in our league.

Besides the two times Driskel got hit and fumbled, what exactly was wrong with our pass protection?

Remember when we couldn't pick up 4th and1 against Miami of Ohio? After that, I am thrilled with this line haha. Also, nobody grading out champion despite half a dozen snaps over the QBs head.

Most plays Driskel had a lot of time to throw. I thought the OL got outworked in the 3rd quarter. Other than that, it wasn't bad, but this was a young, inexperienced line they went aganst.

    ~Sigh!~

First game stuff IMO, but I have to admit, not having Halapio in there and the OL being jumbled up a bit to accommodate that hurt us some, but from what I saw from my seats today, our main problem was with AJ Humphries taking a few of those bad plays off.

He has to play 100% every play.

I agree. He is an average back. This is why he never played much before. He isn't as good as his ranking out of HS imo.
