He must hold a lot.. Bama has put many first rounders OL in the league, can't blame him for going there.

Yes... it is disturbing to me personally.
Plant High School was my school.

    One has to wonder why?
Did our coaches not think that this guy was all that great?
Did Coach Weiner direct his star lineman away from Florida?
Aaron Murray and Orson Charles both left Plant and went on to Georgia.

Did Montell simply not want to go to Florida or any other Florida schools?
Did Phillip Ely's recruitment and signing with Alabama years ago open up some kind of access to the Pacyderms?

One would think that with the new coaching staff of Muschamp and others... that things would be made smooth in that normally strong Gator town?

    Thoughts anyone?

Goes back a ways. In 1977, Plant had two top prospects: Alan Gray, their QB and a big lineman, Wally Hough. We got Hough and Bama got Gray.

Haven't seen the paper but I am going to assume you are talking about 2015 prospect Jake Fruhmorgen who's father played at Bama? As of right now people are saying UF has a shot because of proximity to home and I think we are recruiting him harder than others

Have you looked at the difference in performance of Bama's Oline and ours, not just this year, but for the last few years? Can you blame a kid for choosing Bama over us?

He hasnt made a choice yet. I would not blame him for wanting to play for the school his father went to over UF though

Why did the staff say no to Ira Denson? Even if he was not a perfect fit for their scheme they should have taken as many OL as possible.

I would guess at this point thet probably wish they did. Seems like on the OL the staff has turned guys away for higher targets that they ended up not landing.

Haha, might not, but those decision makers are going to be out of a job soon so maybe they should rethink their decision on who to take and who to pass on. Not only about Ira, just their entire oline recruiting needs an overhaul.

I think they like the players they took minus Trenton Brown and that was probably due to him not making it in in the Jan. I dont think they like what they were given when they stepped on campus.

To add to that, and correct me if I am missing someone. In 2014 at guard we will have the two incoming freshman, probably redshirts, quinteze williams (transfer candidate), Ian silberman(plays tackle now, has had two shoulder injuries), garcia(might have to play tackle), trip thurman, tyler moore, octavious jackson, and Dillard who I believe is going to play center. Not exactly loaded, garcia and moore are proven

One of the incoming freshmen is an EE and can probably play if we needed him to. I think they take a JUCO. We will see who Davis visits this weekend. Not loaded but it should work if we start the season with no injuries.

I agree, I just think we need more numbers and a rs fr denson or someone else considering we had extra ships is better than anyone we have incoming to play next year. If he didn't pan out in a year or two he can transfer.

He was never really an option for them for a few reasons. Maybe somebody else but not him. I am sure they could have picked up some 3 star OG if they wanted. This Dunker thing really messed up the OL. I would have kept him and just suspended him for like 4 games.

Agree on the dunker issue, but every guard or tackle we took was a three star so, yes I think they should have taken another kid, bigger board, widen the offer list, something, what has happened with both urban and champ on the oline is inexusible.
