It really stinks that they choked vs Georgia.
Perhaps. I don't think the Oklahoma D is as stout as Georgia's D.
I also think Bama's D is tougher than UGA's.
I think both of your statements are probably true, but I still think they would have scored more than BAMA. I guess we will never know.
BAMA is a good team and they probably will always be good. You can make an argument that some of their better teams were the ones that didn't win the National Championship.
I thought Oklahoma was the best team in the country.
It would have been a good matchup: Baker Mayfield struggled with georgia's defense--so I would imagine Bama's would have given him trouble too. Then there's the fact that georgia let up attacking Bama's perimeter for some unknown reason...I doubt Oklahoma would have done the same since that's their bread and butter.
Lot of different things for/against either team in that matchup.
And they nevertheless lost 2 times to Alabama's once. I also thought for most of the season and the championship game that Alabama was the best team last year, but the best teams need to win the games to be called best.
UCF would’ve beat Bama too. What a ridiculous argument, OU lost to Georgia last week. There is a reason they play the games, win or go home.
As bad as Jalen was yesterday, he would have massacred OU. Arm tackles left and right, players just standing around, that defense was terrible against the run. I think it would have been maybe 42-21 with Bama getting burned in the air but absolutely running a train on OU on the ground.
That would have been a great game too.
"Yeah, well that's just like your opinion, man"
This is the only interesting argument, that Hurts would have been effective enough against a weaker OU defense and would have kept the superior passer at QB on the bench.
It's not an argument. It's an opinion.
Yeah...of course it is my opinion. So is 99% of the stuff posted in here.
You are right. They didn't win when they needed to. Same with Auburn. Not sure what your 2 times to 1 proves. Georgia lost twice and was pretty close to being National Champion.
They each came into the playoff with one loss. Alabama came out with no losses and Oklahoma came out with a loss to the team Alabama beat. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand-grenades. Winner equals best, not who has the funnest looking offense among the losers.
The dude abides.
Interesting. After their Defensive performance in the Rose Bowl, I was convinced they didn't even belong in the final 4. No team with a defense that utterly deplorable should ever be in the final four.
UCF would not have beat Alabama (PERIOD).
OK's rush defense was beyond horrible. AL's defense is better than GA's.
Clemson and OK were ranked higher because they played in easier conferences. Pretty obvious now.
Everyone was enamored with Oklahoma. Oklahoma's D is not championship worthy. D wins championships. The two best teams in the country were on the field last night. Bama's D is superior to UGA's. So, OP, it is your opinion. But, why is it your opinion? What makes you think Oklahoma would have beaten Bama? I cannot find any position where OK is superior except for the Heisman.
And MAYBE on that last point. Sure takes more than a half to introduce a super hero but Tua feels just right and I HATE liking Bama players but you gotta be a real hater to not like that Aloha spirit of that kid.
