I was all over us bringing in Chip Kelly but I've cooled on that. I want to bring in the head coach of Baylor. I can't even imagine what he'd be able to do with UF recruits instead in recruiting for Baylor. I would want him to bring in a really good DC.

This wont happen with our fanbase. If the next guy doesn't win at least 2 natty's in 3yrs, the noise in the system will be loud again. The coach we get will have to live up to Saban or Meyer standards or their gone in 3-4 yrs. No top program has patience or loyalty these days.

We did wait over two seasons for Will to turn it around...

Most reasonable post award. Maybe I'm an idiot but I still think Muschamp can be a great coach here given some time. That said, after this loss I can't blame anyone for thinking we need a fresh start.

In a way I'm thinking this is similar to Derek Dooley's tenure at Tennessee: Dooley, an offensive-minded head coach, recruited solid offensive players to UT and had UT's offenses among the best in the SEC. But he entrusted the defense to coaches who were not qualified, and it ultimately drug him down and out of Knoxville...

Muschamp is a proven defensive-minded coach, and as UF's HC he's had UF's defenses among the elite of the CFB nation. But he isn't an offensive-minded coach, so he turns the offense over to others: the result is the UF offense is struggling mightily, and it may just drag Muschamp down. Hopefully unlike in Dooley's case, Muschamp is able to correct the flaws moving forward. In his defense, he has a ton of injuries that may make a difference once those players return to the active roster...

Sumlin has the number 3 QB-PP Kyle Allen committed. Basically our version of Grier

Do you read what you write??

In 3 seasons WM has 0 SEC east titles, let alone SEC or National titles. He also has a 22-13 record which will probably end up even worse by the time the season is done. You talk about UM or NS standards.....WM is barely up to Ron Zook standards. We are 4-5 and might miss a bowl game. Vandy just blew us out at home by double digits....but yes we are mad because WM has not won 2 national titles

You are creating strawman arguments to escape reality.

Escaping reality?? No, it was a tongue and cheek comment, not to be taken that seriously, hard to type sarcasm my friend.

For me the circumstances with our program when Will was hired, i knew it would take 5-7 yrs to fix Just to be competitive again. Rather it was gonna be just WM or the coach after. Is that realistic enough??

I was totally into the Muschamp hire. I think he's an awesome football guy, but to be down 17 - 0 to Vandy (or whatever it was) before most people got to their seats just tells me he's lost this team. Now I know nothing about football, but I do know what I see on the field and I see a team that doesn't seem to be tuning into its' coach. I really wanted him to succeed (who didn't?) I just can't see it happening.

Haha...noise in the system. The average fan in today's age of instant gratification gives coaches 2 years to show marked improvement.

5 to 7 years to fix a program? At UF? Not even close. This is not Gulf Coast University. It takes only 2-3 years maximum here with our talent base and prestige. WM just does not have it as a HC. He lacks "it".

@PBPjasonlieser: Muschamp welcomes your suggestions: “I don’t need to hear any fan from the outside telling me what we need to do, I can assure you that.”

Probably not a good time to say that Champ

Indeed. I have been disappointed in the season, for sure..but always felt Muschamp deserved one more year bc of injuries and the recruiting class.

But one simply cannot lose to Vandy at home--and getting blown out at that--without consequences.

How do you not score a touchdown when you are 1st and goal from the 11/2 yard line?We made Vandy look like Alabama.

5-7 years? I'm sorry but I have to ask your reasoning on why it would take whole classes to graduate to become competitive again?

Exactly. Now is NOT the time to be picking battles with the fans when you're team is 4-5 and got blown out at home by Vandy. Period.

Well that's where we disagree. I think he has 'it'. He just wont have the time to do that here and just may end up being that great coach at another school.
Hell, I don't think Belicheck (sp?) could've came to UF when WM was hired and turned it around in 3 yrs.
