    I'm not sure why an inventory of evidence would be needed. The whole thing comes down to self defense.

    A catchy tune might help the students remember:

    Don't be Rionda

    Don't, don't be Rionda ....

    If they are lookng at the evidence, it should benefit the defense, because the state had no evidence.

    Good call.

    In the event of an acquittal, they can say on the interview circuit that indeed, they looked at all of the alleged evidence, and it was not there.

    Could go the other way too, I guess.

    State --> hysteria
    Defense --> evidence
    Jury --> request for list of evidence

    Thinking this benefits the defense.

    The only thing I can read of this is that the initial poll (after the appointment of the foreperson) of the jurors was not unanimous.

    Just for pure entertainment while we're waiting on a verdict, watch Frank Taaffe, George Zimmerman's friend, in this exchange with Nancy Grace. Watch her interrupt him over and over after she makes a statement about Zimmerman to get under his skin.

    Taaffe is on every evening on all 3 shows starting with Jane Valez Mitchell, Nancy Grace, and then Dr Drew. This guy won't back down from any of them. Last night on Dr Drew, Frank Taaffe told the panel he wasn't getting paid to go on any of these shows. He told them he was tired of the media throwing his friend under the bus so he comes on these shows to defend Zimmerman.

    Enjoy...

    You guys can actually stand Nancy Grace for more than a minute? I had more than my fill of her while my wife was watching the Anthony trial.

    I'm sure they did... Right after deciding who was going to be the foreperson...

    In fact, they may well have already voted, and it was unamimous one way or the other, but they feel they would be criticized for coming to a decision too quickly...

    I can't watch her. Haven't been able to for years. For me it's not the substance of anything she says, I just can't stand her sneering persona.

    That woman sure is shrill. I've always thought that when a person yells, it means they really can't make a good argument for their case.

    Good description. Some people you just want to slap the chit out of. She falls into that category with me although I have never hit a woman and never plan to.

    And from Martin's own girlfriend.

    Is skin color or party affiliation always going to be a discerning factor in cases like these with the likes of chomp?

    well, it is pretty bad when the prosecution resorts to telling the jury in their closing GZ said to tell is wife he just killed someone-when in actuality he said tell my wife I just shot someone- huge difference

    re: the request from the Jury for an organized list of all the evidence...

    Would either one of you care to articulate why?

    I disagree, considering that the State so strongly urged them to rule based on what their "hearts" were telling them, whereas the Defense was the one urging them to focus on the evidence. Or, the lack thereof.

    My prediction is they will find GZ guilty manslaughter. It will be based on emotion and social justice since TM is black and a "white" Hispanic is alive. IMO they will see manslaughter as a compromise because there is no way on earth they would have convicted him on murder 2.
    When OJ can walk, when BO can get elected not once but twice, do I think justice will be done by convicting GZ, noooooo. It is what it is and my friends what a sorry commentary it will be about this country should this happen.

    Here is a deeper issue, why do so many black people rally when it's a white on black issue? There's nothing if it's black on black or black on white only white on black. Twanada case and the Duke team comes to mind when people were stirred up. It's as if the media and of course rev (o really) Jackson/Sharpton and the media foam at the mouth when there's something like this. I suppose black people will always feel as victims, black leaders will always encourage victimization for own gains, and no matter how far we've advanced from what it was like in the 50s and 60s we will never get rid of this friction. I love to see the day that the color of one's skin makes no difference. By the way, if TM was Hispanic and GZ was black, I would still feel GZ was innocent and acted in self defense.

    Agreed, I think they have a verdict within the first two hours.
