Wow - I know it's "off-season," but am surprised that there is no thread devoted specifically to the finals. I know we have a few Heat fans on board. Who you got in this series? I won't pretend to be knowledgeable about the NBA, but I know the Spurs are a veteran team that plays very good team ball. Rebounding could be the Heat's achilles. My prediction: Spurs in seven. MVP: Splitter :p Just kidding! It's hard to pick a Spurs MVP since they spread it around so much. I'll go Ginobli.

The spurs are the masters of flopping. I'm not a Miami fan, but the Spurs annoy the crap out of me. Especially Ginobli. Go Heat.

Danny Green missed pretty good looks at the 1st and 2nd Q buzzers. Spurs lead 54-49 at the half of game one. LeBron with 13 pts at the half. Ginobli having a big half.

Green heating up along with the arena. James is cramping just like last year. Going to go down the wire.

An nba finals game should not be allowed to be played without a functioning A/C. I understand that both teams had to play in the same conditions, but you don't let outside factors potentially influence the outcome of this big of a game. Lebron has had cramping issues in the past but he never asks to
come out in the 3rd like that. He never has to ice down his entire body. That's now how a finals game should be decided.

Yup, it is terrible that the outcome of a game can be influenced by something as stupid as the AC. I didn't have the sound on during the game and couldn't figure out why everyone had ice on. Then when LeBron started cramping and they put that graphic up of the temperature it all clicked.

Heat would have lost regardless. I find it amusing that fans think basketball players are so fragile that they require air conditioned courts. That's when you know you've lost perspective. Ask the players at Rucker or any court in Miami what they think about it.

Didn't the Spurs have to play without A/C as well ? The Heat had the benefit of squaring off against a poorly coached team in last year's final. This year it got real.

That very well may be true. The Spurs went nuts in the 4th quarter and missed only 2 shots. They likely would have won regardless. That being said, if you don't think missing LeBron for the last half of the 4th quarter and having him cramping up before he went out was a game changer, than you weren't watching the same game. The Heat were sitting comfortably until that point. With James out, they lose their best defender, and best offensive weapon.

I don't remember saying that losing the best player in the league goes without consequences.

    He's a Powerade athlete.

And the official Gatorade twitter account was kind of trolling him for it last night...

So Popavich learned to coach in the off season? I'm confused by this statement.

I do too, but that means were just not going to count last year when Miami beat a well coached team? If you're going to troll at least know what you're talking about....
