Tennessee is next up for the Gators as they bring a 12-6 (3-2) record into the O'Dome to face the league leading Gators who are now sitting on a 16-2 (5-0) record of their own along with a school-record 25 home game winning streak. The Gators have lost the last three match-ups against the Vols with the last win coming in March 2011.

Time to turn that boat around as well as stay on track for a SEC regular season championship. Not much else I want to say other than a win tomorrow will be a big plus in league play.

    Go Gators!!!!

For whatever reason, they are always at their best against Florida.

They'll stink it up at home at TAMU and not be able to hit a shot to save their lives against UK, but we know that none of that will mean anything tomorrow afternoon.

Boynton and Murph had poor games (combined for 9 points) last year at Knoxville. We lost the game inside though at the FT Line (6-11 vs 11-19) and were outrebounded by 11 (7/22 vs 13/27). We didn't have Yeguette or DFS, they didn't have Maymon.

I believe we match up better with them this year. DFS gives us inside presence that Murph didn't. Having Yeguette will help us too.

I think we break the streak tomorrow, but it will not be easy.

I forgot that Frazier didn't play either. We were forced to use Devon Walker and Braxton, although Braxton chipped in an assist and steal in 7 minutes of action.

One thing about Martin's defenses that may be hurting Tennessee a little this year is that they always seem to play aggressive man to man on the perimeter, with lots of hand checking, fighting through screens or even physical hard hedges and traps, which are all quite subject to the rule changes. But the Vols have apparently played far more zone this year. Their opponents haven't gotten to the free throw stripe as much as you would have thought (only 1 more attempt per game than we allow), but they are giving up a high percentage across the board (42% overall, 37% from the arc).

I suspect--like so many games collegiately--this one will be won or lost from the arc. Tennessee isn't a bad shooting team, so we need to be plus on threes. We can't give them that advantage on our home court. Similarly, while they are a very solid rebounding team, we need to mitigate that somewhat, keeping the margin in that 2-5 range or something along those lines. If they are +8-10 or s, it probably means we are defending well on the possession, but giving up offensive rebounds, second shots, and possibly even scramble threes.

UT's strength appears to be rebounding (39.5/game to the Gators' 36.8). But like Tommy wrote, I believe we matchup better this time around. I looked at their schedule, which contains an anomaly. They played Xavier two times(?) resulting in a split. Strange - one of them must have been part of a neutral site tournament. Excited about today's game. Go Gators! Crush the vollies.

I wish this game wasn't being shown same time as the senior bowl game today. A couple former gators are playing and I don't like watching taped games. I like watching them live. I guess I'll be holding the remote flipping back and forth throughout the game.

DVR? I like to DVR the games and watch about 30min behind. It negates the potential to enjoy ( ) game threads, but allows one to ff through the commercials.

C'mon, Jag. You are putting a post-season football all-star game on par with a hoops game against a hated division rival that has beaten us three consecutive times where we stand to set the school record for consecutive home wins?

I hear ya! All valid points you make but I'm very interested in the NFL draft and how some of these players do. Good example was last year. EJ Manuel becomes a first round NFL pick because his stock went sky high as a result of him playing so well (MVP) in the senior bowl game. Coaches and scouts put a lot of emphasis on this game for draft order.

Also, the head coach of the Jags, Gus Bradley, will be coaching the South team and I'm interested to see or guess who they might pick in May. With all that said, I'll be tuned in more to the basketball game for the reasons you gave. There are lots of coaches and tv commercial time-outs in basketball...hence me flipping the channel frequently.
