We didn't play our best offensively, because these guys haven't played together.
But defensively we got it together.
With walker we are going to blow a lot of people out.

Yeah, but he said something the effect that it was the last couple of years. With everything else he seemed to be saying about UF that seemed negative (or maybe it was all the positive about Kansas, lol), it just seemed like he wasn't giving Donovan his due.

Good point about not playing together & lack of cohesiveness. It'll only get batter.

Fantastic win after the gut-wrenching loss. Congrats to our players and coaches! So good to get that win over a very talented team.

I understand the reasoning, but college coaches don't generally go that route so early as Self did...they were hacking with 5 minutes to go

DFS did a excellent job on Ellis tonight. He will need to bring that game vs Young when the Gators play Kentucky.

His love for Wiggins was sickening. At times I thought he wanted the rest of the Kansas team to just hand Wiggins the ball and go sit down

It makes sense in my opinion why they did that. Young is what a career 52 free throw shooter? So why not go hack a young ala hack a shaq or howard.

Who would've thought that we had to / would rely on Prather for FTs in the clutch this year?

Great 1st half by PY & DFS, in the 2nd Wilbekin took over & allowed Prather to seal it at the end.

Norm Sloan? Vitale is certainly old enough to remember his days with the M&M boys, but I guess that didn't fit his agenda. Vitale was terrible tonight.

Agreed. We were really bad all game offensively, even in the first half, but the turnovers and threes masked much of it. We have a long way to go, though that is expected at this stage. This was our first game with the point guards, we still don't have D. Walker back, and we only went seven deep tonight. Donovan is still trying to figure out rotations and combinations. You ordinarily get to experiment with that in November, but we just couldn't.

Regardless, this team is playing far more competitively than it did to start the year and the chemistry and rotations will only get better from here.

So just got home....we couldn't shoot FT, rebound, hit from long-range, yet we won by 6 against Kansas. Imagine if we could hit FT, hit from long-range, and rebound. Might have won by 30.

I really thought this was going to be the Wilbekin we see last year. He is playing pretty good but as a pg he really needs to get better feeding the big/rim runner off the PnR. He had several occasions to make a quick pass or lob to Young mostly but Finney and Will too.

An excellent win at home--Gators dominated from about the 5 minute mark of the first half through the end of the game. Kansas is a solid team and ended up clawing back into it--but the Gators' had an answer every time.

Scottie W and DFS deserve particular mention as our two best players on the night--and Young was valuable establishing a low-post threat. As this team continues to heal and establish a rotation, we're going to look vastly different as the season goes on.

I honestly do not understand some of the comments on here and in the outside press. We just knocked of Kansas by 6 points despite their star having a career night and despite our inability to make free throws. The press bills it as "Gators hang on to edge Kansas" or words to that effect while last week when we lost to Uconn by a point on a prayer the press was immediately full of "how great is this Uconn team!". It is not as if we are some upstart who has never been here before either, we have been to the elite 8 the last three years in a row to say nothing of the 04s. And we still do not have our whole team in place. Is it a good thing to stay this far under the radar? Shouldn't we be getting more recognition for recruiting reasons if nothing else? Given what we have shown and what we are capable of this is pretty clearly a final 4 quality team and may be a team for the ages. Now I feel much better, thanks.

I honestly don't understand why we are ranked below KY. We have lost on the road, not on neutral sites, and it has been ridiculously close with a depleted roster.
We are never given full credit, I agree with singapore.
The comments of Dickie V during the game were sickening. The reason Kansas was in a hole was because of our defense. Those fouls on Patric were complete BS, but no comments there, but yeah, they had to go on and on about a non called foul by us.

I'm very happy though, I rather win the hard way. These guys are going to be very good once they develop chemistry.
