Thus begins the start of a tough 4 game stretch for the Gators as they will be facing FSU, Connecticut, Kansas, and Memphis between Friday and Dec. 17th. Those who used to be concerned over a soft pre-SEC schedule should love the games this year. Gators have already went up to Wisconsin and gave the Top 10 ranked Badgers a tough time before finally falling short 59-53. Now they find themselves starting this batch of games against a quality team who comes into the O'Dome with a 5-1 ranking and only 3 spots out of the AP top 25.

This is a game where the Gators are going to find themselves up against a lot of height all over the court with the visitors sporting 3 seven footers on their roster at the center position. Along with this the shortest player on their projected starting roster is 6' 3". The full list of starters is as follows:

FLORIDA STATE (5-1): Okaro White (6-9, 204, SR); Robert Gilchrist (6-9, 220, SR); Boris Bojanovsky (7-3, 240, SO); Devon Bookert (6-3, 185, SO); Montay Brandon (6-7, 216, SO)

With guard play that is reported do to be improved this season the Gators are going to have their hands full when they take to the court Friday night.

This will be the 2nd game back for starting PG Scottie Wilbekin and if the last game is any indication he is going to be a difference maker. The Gators will once again go with a starting lineup that includes 4 seniors and 1 sophomore. To add to this there is quality backups on the bench for Billy to call on and although the team is still not at full strength they are in better shape than they were at the start of the season.

    FLORIDA (5-1): Will Yeguete (6-8, 230, SR); Casey Prather (6-6, 212, SR); Patric Young (6-9, 240, SR); Scottie Wilbekin (6-2, 176, SR); Michael Frazier (6-4, 199, SO)

You've got to like the home-standing Gators in this match-up and nothing would be better than for them to start the weekend off on a positive note for Gator men's sports.

    As always....

    Go Gators!!!!

While a win over their basketball program won't alleviate a possible/probable loss Saturday it will help our bb program and take some of the edge off should the football team lose.

To lose to both Men's Football and Basketball team's of FSU would be taking a dump and being out of toilet paper.
Come on Gators, let's get this one under our belts.

The boards will be a challenge in this game. We can't afford to give them second shots. Young and Yeguete have to avoid early foul trouble. I like our spacing and shooting better than Florida State's with Wilbekin back to go with Frazier and DFS. Hopefully we can use the press a little to get them going up and down because they can get sloppy with the ball. It would also take some of their bigs out of the game a little.

I tend to believe the new rules change/enforcement may play to our favor when we try to attack the baskets against their bigs. I expect Prather to test them early on.

Looks to me like Florida is a good pressing team and that FSU can be pressed. Hope we do some
