We are going to attempt to keep the discussion of the nomination of Judge xxx to the SCOTUS in this thread to avoid duplication. While this nomination is obviously not a "game" we will treat this like a "game thread". Please keep your discussion civil and respect everyone's opinion.

The added benefit of picking Kavanaugh is that Trump gets to fill another seat on the D.C. Circuit.

Future Justice Brett Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court of These United States of America from the State of Maryland.

A great American with wide experience in the Judicial and Executive branches of our great American Constitution!

A great Husband and Dad. Wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters. A great American Family.

Volunteers in Catholic Charities serving food to the poor.

A brilliant selection by President Donald J. Trump.

Game thread! Kavanaugh is a double Bulldog (albeit Yale). I am sure he is a better CYO girls basketball coach than Nord was a special teams coach or Nuss was an offensive coordinator! If confirmed, may he judge wisely!

Kavanaugh's speech covered all of the points. He has a lovely family. Odd bit of history that he was in the White House on 9/11.

Apparently, Kavanaugh is already on record that a sitting President cannot be indicted or even sued. Apparently he has written a law review article on this. So, the perfect choice for this President. This, despite the fact Kavanaugh worked for Starr. Respectfully.

Not thrilled with his multiple connections to the Bushies, but he's better than Garland or anyone Hillary would have nominated. I'll take it and hope Barrett gets the nomination for Ruthie's seat next. :)

I gotta' say though, I was a tad concerned with how damn happy the press boys were with the selection.

Freaked me out. Still has me a tad concerned...am I missing something?

    (just say'n...).

He seems to be a mixed bag for everyone.
He has said that roe v Wade was settled law, was a lead lawyer for ken Starr(ultimate irony given Trump’s hate for the general counsel), but most predictions say he will be more conservative than Kennedy and likely Gorsuch on the court.
