57. Still young enough to be a great coach IMO.
All Briles has done is succeed wherever he has gone. High school, Houston, Baylor. He builds and wins. That translates to any location - even Gainesville.
He took 3 years to fix Baylor!!! Do you have any idea how historically bad they were??
We are a completely different story.
I agree, but we have some sceptics here.
No thank you!
Foley and the Boosters need to send a loaded Brinks truck to Briles home. .
As long as we can wish, I'll wish for Sumlin. I think he could bring a great staff and recruit against anyone. He wouldn't need a 4th year to decide if he has "it". He'd bring "it".
The best thing about Briles is this -
He has Baylor ranked in the top 5 and you probably can't name a single person on their team.
Ok, now all the knowitalls will come out and say of course I know joe smith the QB, etc. Briles is doing it with nobody. We suck with the top recruits at every position - EVERY position. That's the bottom line.
I don't know it all, but I do know they have one of the most explosive players in the country. Originally committed to UO and was named in the whole money situation.
Lache Seastrunk I believe.
I don't care if he's 100 years old. At this point I'd take a stuffed Joe Paterno propped up in the booth over what we currently have.
If you are going to make a change, you do it now so you can start talking to guys like this. It is important to get involved with the highly desirable guys early and move the process along.
Haha...Weekend at Benny's! Benny Hill Griffin that is.
If he comes it wont be the money Baylor has the money to match whatever we offer
Everything IS bigger in Texas
If we were able to get Briles, I would have the same "holy shit" reaction I had when we got Meyer. Briles may be 57, but Saban is 62 and still running on all cylinders. Not saying Briles is Saban, but he could be, and with our resources, he definitely could make us a dominant force going forward.
I'm not sure I buy this. Baylor hasn't even been able to pull the tarps off their stadium this year and they operate an athletic budget that is half the size of UF's.
