6th straight win!
6th consecutive win for UF
9th save for magliozzi
poyner w/ his 1st win
Alright, so we split the season series with the dunkers. They won all the games up here, and we won all the games down there.
Way to keep the streak going, GATORS!
gators this season vs FGCU
first game gators w/ 2 runs
2nd game gators w/ 3 runs
3rd game gators w/ 4 runs
this game gators w/ 5 runs
fgcu was averaging nearly 8 runs in the 1st 3 games vs UF,
tonight we held them to 3 runs...and it took 5 errors for them to plate 3 runs.
Mags just moved up into a tie for 10th place with 9 saves on the season. That matches him with Wheeler ('95), Ramsey ('01), and Falkenbach ('05). The leaders are Fogg ('98) and Wheeler ('94) with 13.
Usually it's not a good thing if you score as many runs as you have errors, but anything that leads to a W is acceptable.
Guess those Gulf Coast boys must have put some grease on their bats. That's my only explanation for so many errors. Got a couple things to work on before next game.
To me that shows how much we've improved this year, from getting swept by FGCU at home to beating them in their stadium despite making 5 errors.
I think Missouri this weekend is our first unranked SEC opponent.
Just keep pushing more and more over .500. Get a comfort zone going.
Congrats fellas, keep it going.
Great job Gators. Not only have they kept their heads above water through the hard part of the schedule, but they've come out of it with a winning record, both overall and in conference. Now it's time to get greedy. Last night was our last road midweek game, and 4 of our final 5 series are against the 4 worst teams in the SEC.
The one series that isn't against a bad team is against a team that has played above average so far and it is on the road.
yeah, the LSU series will be a major measuring stick since many consider LSU the top team in the nation or the #2 team in the nation.
