What does that have to do with Bama or 2008 UF? Both teams have a better offense than 2013 UF and would have beaten Toledo by 40+

What you saw today isn't the "2013 UF Offense." It was a circumstantial, personnel-driven effort.

Our offense is what it is... No way to sugarcoat it or expect any more.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion, but I'm going to give it more time before I start judging it. I suspect that Jones' presence in our backfield will command different defensive sets (with better opportunities to throw over the top of them) and I also think Muschamp will be less likely to handcuff Pease when he's not protecting a depleted depth chart facing a hurry-up offense at noon in The Swamp.

Matt Jones is a little different than Mack Brown

Look I love Jones and he's easily the most talented back on the roster but, I don't think his return will have the impact you predict for one simple reason-- Toledo was stacking the box, I honestly just don't think Boom likes the long ball-- it's too risky and even if it works it uses too little time.

He wants a Bama style offense without all the flashiness, think LSU under Les Miles prior to this season and you have Boom's dream team.

This is just Boom's philosophy. We'll never be explosive because that's not what our HBC wants. He is perfectly fine winning 24-10, 21-13. That offense will never ever average 30+ a game. Boom has his recipe for wins. Strong D and ball control offense. If we ever get down...forgettaboutit. BUT, he should win a lot of games here.

He's just an ultra-conservative coach. He is what he is.

I'd like the beat Miami by 100 points but, that's not realistic. It's going to be an interesting game with all the Gators back from their one game vacation. We'll win it if we're hungry.

What's the deal with "explosive" plays? Really, explosive on this board can be defined by simply launching the ball-regardless of whether or not our receivers down field are double covered-forty yards down the field to see if something big happens.

This offense is not a finished product. You can be sure that Driskel will carry the ball more, using more misdirection in the run game, and we'll see the coaches try to "open it up" with more plays designed to move it up the field in the passing game when the Gators are challenged. And it will happen at some point.

Know that this offense will look different depending on how the staff chooses to try to move the ball this season, depending on who we play. At some point they'll be forced to get creative with the personnel on hand, and then we'll have a better idea of what this offense will look like. Going deep may or may not be a part of what they're going to try to do, but I'll be happy with an efficient attack that scores points, reduces the overall number of penalties, and does a better job of moving the ball with consistency throughout the game. To me, that would be an upgrade.

Muschamp and Pease obviously don't care what people on this board think. They could've tried to give the fans something to get fired up about yesterday, but decided that the game was over when he went up 24-6 and couldn't have a run a more boring product to end the game as quickly as possible. Good for them.

We averaged 50 more yards than last year's season opener.

Er, uh - it's a 12, hopefully 13 or 14 game season. We've played one game. Isn't it a little early to be saying "never?"

That Muschamp is handcuffing Pease is speculation imo. Hard to say what's going on. I'll feel better if we see some real play action and straight in-your-face offense as we progress. I'm just not sure we have much ready but we'll see.

That's not true. Think of the great Miami teams (except with a blue collar version, not the swag version). That is Boom's dream team. Once he has an advanced passing QB with weapons at WR you will see a balanced offense with a vertical passing game.

Muschamp is recruiting studs like Will Grier at QB while LSU recruits scrubs. There is no way you can compare them.

You can't base it off of last season or one game this season which UF killed the clock for most of it. UF had no WRs, a QB who could not read a defense, and no pass protection last season. Of course he ran it most of the time.

The game was already in the bag. UF controlled just about every aspect of the game. Why would you risk an injury going into next week with no necessity. The passing questions will be answered in Miami.
