Well somebody please tell me when was the last time a Florida lineman made it to the pros (actually starting) besides the twins. I think we haven't had a good line in years. Is it coaching, recruiting, or something else? Maybe at my age I can't remember one making it but there are ones of there who know.

Ask Pittsburgh. They have had 3 in in 9 years. Starks, Gilbert, Pouncey

We had 3 drafted in 2011...All are playing still.

    Since 2000:

Mike Pouncey, Maurkice Pouncey, Marcus Gilbert, Maurice Hurt, Max Starks, Cooper Carlisle, Mike Pearson, Kenyatta Walker...off of my head.

    Are we counting TE's?
    Lots of them as well.

Jordan Reed, Aaron Hernandez, Cornelius Ingram, Ben Troupe,

Speaking of TE's here's a question someone can hopefully answer, what ever happened to Cornelius Ingram?!? I used to love watching him play.

OT Lomas Brown, 1st round (6th pick overall) in 1985

He played in the pros for Detroit plus 4 other NFL teams.

One of the best OT to play for Florida.

I think he works for ESPN now.

Ingram was great, and without the injuries I think he may have made an impact in the NFL.

The one that always perplexed me was Ben Troupe - he had a few good years but faded out pretty quickly.

Carlisle plays for Oakland. He use to play for Denver.

Starks plays for the Steelers unless he was traded.

Can't remember the names but one played for Dallas, San Fransisco. Check out Gators in the NFL.

For all its dominance of the NCAA, the SEC does not produce an awful lot of NFL O-linemen. We think of them as "meatheads" and "big uglies" but it takes a very high degree of intelligence to successfully play those positions in the pros. A lot of those guys tend to come from schools up north that are stronger academically.

Typical college major of a wide receiver or running back? Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. In other words, how to work out in the gym.

Typical major of an offensive lineman? Engineering, or something with a lot of math involved.

That's right I forgot the string of injuries. Ingram was a stud and yes Troupe is another that had his days, and washed out. Though I think he's still in the league right?

Imagine if Hernandez wasn't an idiot the level he would of reached, but I think Reed will eventually reach that level he had a great catch last night.

I think "typical" is a bit hyperbolic.

He had several catches actually. He looked poised and confident for a rookie.

Did anyone see Andre Caldwell the other night?!? Looked good! And I didn't know the 49ers had any gator offensive linemen. I know Ray McDonald played but he was a DT and I think Brandon Siler at one point.

Center Jeff Mitchell was good. Played for the Ravens and Panthers from 1997 to 2005.
