Suspend employer mandate. Keep individual mandate. Single payer system coming.

Methinks the imperial one, by breaking the law and not forcing employers to cover employees and not requiring an income verification, is intent on the single payer goal.

It was intentional all along. He couldn't pass the legislation otherwise and now he won't enforce the parts that interfere with the liberal goal of redistribution of healthcare.

He simply wants to destroy the employer based system and lied yet again by saying we will be able to keep our coverage. Liberals believe all health care should be equal and if you work, you should subsidize the slackers.

    The President is a scoundrel.

Well he is talking about a different angle to Obama's overreaching power. The single payer angle was never brought up on the other thread, so this is new, IMHO. But, the mods might think differently.

We all know that the ACA would end-up as the single-payer system... one that the socialists in congress really wanted all along.

It's a law that morphs shifts and changes, even before Obama gives illegal exemptions from it, and it should be un-Constitutional.

A typical liberal cluster. In their misguided plan to "help" they destroy. All because "they think" (I actually don't believe liberals think...they feel) they know best.

Obviously, this was the plan all along. Most of us even said this during the negotiations.

This president is the biggest liar that has ever graced the White House.

Congress has handed their balls to the executive branch. All bark, no bite.

Single payer would be great but in a spirit of compromise during congressional action with more conservative elements in both parties - not rewarded at all by Republicans - it was dropped, as was a public option, a popular notion by all polling. If the conspiracy was as our resident paranoids imagined that idea would surely survived. But hey, I hope you're right and we get to single payer and dump this kluged-up system designed by the Heritage Foundation for Republican candidates.

I love how people want to try to take the fact that an idea was considered and ultimately abandoned like 17 years earlier somehow makes Obamacare the product of bipartisanship.

The Democrat Party owns Obamacare entirely and exclusively. The GOP has no culpability for any of this crap.

Doesn't suspending the employer mandate pretty much leave employer/employee health care as it is for another year? How does that destroy it?

Anytime you have a large minority in both houses of Congress and manage to not add anything to a major piece of legislation destined to pass and be signed, you have culpability, and I would think especially to your supporters - "You didn't even get tort reform in it? reallY?". But hey, we'll take the glory and like Medicare, sometime in the near future Republicans will be running on saving it.

Their total non-involvement is what makes it at least partially their fault?

I think it's a fantastic piece of legislation and - to make absolutely sure it gets rolled out correctly - we need a 99 year delay in implementation.

Right. Coming from someone who has lived off his neighbor's hard work (government care) forever...

In the future Dave, try not to use the word "grace" so loosely. NEVER should any reference to Hussein be used in the same sentence with the word "grace".

It actually demeans the true meaning of the word.

Since I know it was unintentional on your part...we'll overlook the flogging this would normally entail.

    Same rule applies to:

honest, ethical, truthful, integrity, honor, character, competent, forthright, good and decent, as well as numerous others.

You have no idea of what you speak. Single payer is never single payer. Why? Because the world class care many of us want and enjoy goes away for all but those who are willing to pay for "concierge" medicine. And many want exactly that...lets keep what we have and figure out how to make sure all who want it, have access to some kind of care.

Any attempt to pull up the bottom by weakening the top, always fails.

How can you be able to afford it when it has been going up by 30%/yr. In our area, the hospiatl owns the largest most prominent doctor's group as weel as the major insurer. They can pretty much dictate prices, and they just did.
