... And Obama on record as the worst president in history...
On another thread he claimed Reagan single handedly ended the Cold War, so consider what you're dealing with ...
You sure this is a battle you want to fight?
Oh no no no no. Not even close. Just check back to 2000. Heck some are still bitching about Bush V. Gore. This does not come even close, not by a long shot.
That was sore winning, not sore losing.
Hey wasn't it just yesterday that prezBHO was promising Putin he wouldn't be dropping any bombs??? Well don't look now but after one game of the tournament his NCAA bracket just exploded!!
Well, so much for getting that billion dollars for the debt from the Buffet challenge.
holy crap. 'i just wish he had the decency to do it in private'? we're not talking about a bj here...
He needs to put that bracket away and invade somewhere, too!
No.. Metaphorically speaking, however, he is performing sodomy on America and Americans.... In public on a daily basis.
You are talking about that last guy that YOU helped put into the White House, aren't you ?
You know.....the one that took over with a balanced budget but left a $1.2 trillion deficit ? And the USA mired in two wars he had mismanaged. And the economy in a shambles that had never been seen for about 80 years, including subsequent quarters of huge GDP contraction. And the stock market reduced in value by 50% from when he took office. And who lied us into a $2 trillion debacle in Iraq that his Administration lied and said would pay for itself.
THAT is the guy that "metaphorically performed sodomy on America and Americans", right ?
Thank you so much for foisting that disastrous incompetence upon us. You may now continue your finger-pointing and whining.
but lets keep it in current context. you said, regarding his filling out a bracket, that you 'wished he had the decency to do it in private', as if the act of filling out a bracket is somehow offensive or obscene. we will of course remember this should a republican gain the white house and dare to fill out a march madness bracket.
*or play golf
I'm somewhat in agreement with Dave on this matter. Dave wrote that he doesn't care that Obama filled out a bracket, he " just with [wishes?] he had the decency to do it in private."
I'm in agreement that it's perfectly fine for Obama to fill out a bracket with whatever teams he chooses, but it should not be a televised sideshow. However, it's not that it was an indecent thing to do, but making it a televised event demonstrated a lack of the necessary decorum appropriate to the office of the Presidency.
I think Obama at the very least exhibits narcissistic tendencies that should be monitored and restrained. Showcasing his bracket selections into a media event was in poor taste and reflected badly on the Office. IMO a U.S. president should be above that sort of circus, exercising self restraint for the dignity of the Office and himself.
When we are in a stand-off with Russia and all the worlds problems that are going on right now, ya I think he can do better than to spend his time TALKING about his bracket and going on TV as if people really care. Spend more time on Russia or get more face time with your stupid bracket? Hes a leader, not just one of the guys.
I don't know lacuna, in the internet age, and 24 hr everything, I don't see this having any effect one way or the other in terms of decorum or integrity. I mean, did anyone even watch it?
what can we say about the decorum of office anymore? i would almost have been with you on that, at one time, but when people like ted nugent get invited as guests to SOTU's, or congressmen yell out stuff like 'YOU LIE'' (also at SOTU's), or seeing congressmen just about trip over themselves to shake the hand of a reality tv star wearing a red white and blue bandanna, (again, at a SOTU), well, they've taken the dignity/decorum of office away, turning it into, say, a circus.
so i gotta give the guy a break. filling out brackets for espn has a lot more class than inviting ted nugent to be one's guest at what used to be a dignified event.*
keeping in mind that there may be a slow eroding of 'decorum' ever since nixon first said 'sock it to me'
I, for one, surely did not.
You're right, verti. There is a decided lack of dignity affecting all aspects of society, government to entertainment most especially. I can't disagree with you at all in that regard. More troubling to me, though, is the disappearance of civility and the scarcity of courtesy. We are the poorer for it.
I really don't see what all the fuss is. I feel safer when politicians are distracted by things that don't result in more money or freedom being stolen from me.
If only Putin were filling out a bracket.
Obama gets 1 out of 4 teams right (25%) of his Final 4 picks...and that would be the mighty Gators but he had them losing to Michigan State in the semi-final game of the Final 4.
