    http://personalliberty.com/2013/08/08/say-goodbye-to-the-u-s-economy/

    from the article:

The results are in. The picture is grim. Here are some frightening economic numbers to think about the next time the lying, manipulating mainstream media tells you that we are in “recovery.”
First, almost 50 percent of Americans have less than $500 in savings. Not surprisingly, one out of three residents of Obama’s home State of Illinois live in poverty. A mind-numbing four of five Americans either are experiencing poverty, foreclosure or welfare, or they will in their lifetime. Four out of five. Say goodbye to the myth of the American dream. It’s only a nightmare now.
Ditto for the American middle class. Obama has massacred it. Our middle class now ranks 27th in the world. I’ve argued from day one that Obama’s goal was to create a two-class society. The two classes are the super rich (who are beholden to Obama for corporate welfare and government contracts) and the poor (who are beholden to Obama for checks to survive). Look no further than the new immigration bill to see the final destruction of middle-class wages.
More grim news: Auto sales are collapsing. Construction jobs are falling off a cliff. And U.S. factory orders just suffered the biggest drop in a year.
What about jobs? Isn’t that picture getting rosier by the minute? Well, actually, no. Let’s analyze the real numbers. Since the start of 2013, we’ve gained 953,000 jobs; but, amazingly, 731,000 of them are crummy, low-wage, part-time jobs. That’s means almost 80 percent of the jobs created in America are part-time jobs that won’t pay the bills of a typical middle-class lifestyle.

    Here's another passage:

"The biggest city to ever go bankrupt, Detroit, has been run by Democrats since 1962. That’s more than half a century of 100 percent Democrat rule, using the exact same policies as Obama. The city is now in ruins. Detroit leads the Nation in illiteracy, welfare, food stamps, violent crime, murder, abandoned properties and broken street lights.

The city of Detroit’s downfall is built around four core ideas: never-ending entitlement spending, the most government employees per capita of any city in America, monstrous debt and the highest property taxes in America. It’s no surprise then that Detroit is hopelessly bankrupt. But wait, isn’t that Obama’s exact prescription for prosperity for the Nation? High taxes, more spending, more debt and more government employees. Bingo. Help isn’t coming, folks. The cavalry isn’t riding in to save you. They are coming to kill us."

For all Detroit's problems, it's still friendlier than Newark New Jersey. :)

No worries. We still have 23 days left in our 5th summer of recovery...AND...Obama says the economy is the last thing he thinks about when he goes to sleep each night and the first thing he thinks about when he wakes up. And, he is going to renew his laser-like focus on Jobs...again.

Me thinks we have elected a tool...twice.

So he tells the American people that he's going to cut the deficit by half after his first term in office... yet he's making it worse than it ever was... and the dense sheeple in our country still voted for four more years of this misery/jackassery. Pathetic!

We cannot do anything about his reelection- what we have todo is stay on our reps to mitigate his ability to continue to make matters worse

Me thinks those in the hospitality industry even in the liberal northeast are starting to get it...there will be no "summer of recovery" in 2013...except in the Hamptons, the Vineyard, Nantucket.

Occupancy rates in beach and vacation towns from cape cod to Maine and inland areas like Vermont and New Hampshire, have not recovered to 2005-2006 levels. Peak months of July and August from late 80s-2007, most common sign was NO VACANCY. Now, only a couple weekends are booked. Vacation homes and cottage had to be nailed down 6 months to a year in advance. Not now.

Even these libbies are beginning to get it....all talk. As I tell them, take 50 M people out of the system who are unemployed, underemployed, working part time, have given up or are severely pinched financially...it does have a ripple effect.

Of course the Hamptons are full.

The truth is that we are hurtling toward an economy based on a substantial percentage of our population either working for the government, or living off the government. It is only a matter of time before government can no longer afford them ala Detroit. Expect an economic meltdown of epic proportion.

My mom lives in Martin Co Florida (a pub county amongst a sea of commie, libbie, demo counties) and it is interesting to go down during "the season". Seems like there is no recession. I asked some of my moms friends about this. 2 reasons...1. It is a fairly affluent area. 2. GOVERNMENT CHECKS. Those Social Security checks (which the residents earned and contributed into) helped soften the blow when the economy tanked.

I would imagine heavy government aid areas are similar. May not be prospering, but there is commerce...especially around the first of the month or whenever those welfare checks go out and food stamp cards are loaded.

As a result, there is certain % of the population oblivious to the issues of the country. Add to that our leaders in DC who are also clueless but for different reasons.

Certainly seems like it, doesn't it? Oh well, I guess this is just a case where reality has a well-known liberal bias.

Substitute "informed" with dependent and you are closer to being right. Hope those Obama autographed knee pads are working out for you. You may want to read the below. I know it is not on the Onion but it is a fairly decent analysis.

military and university towns along with state capitals and DC faired the best through this perpetual recesssion. Our household income is down 30% +/- since the crash and is stagnant.
