Anybody who did not see this coming to those of us who work in the private sector is a fool.

35m people demand their health care be paid for by their hard working neighbors. Selfish bastards.

And there are plenty of fools who believe everything that comes out of that liar's mouth.

mines been going up, up , up, up for many years.

ive been getting the ol 'a certain % of premiums must be spent on HC" refund for the past 2 years.

IM NOT SAYING THAT THE NEW HEALTH LAW IS GONNA BE GOOD OR THAT obama ISNT A SCUM BAG LYING PILE OF DOG SQUEEZE, LIKE EVERY OTHER POLITICIAN.....

BUT...putting an R or D behind the rise in insurance premiums is partisan hackery and simple minded.

yes i know, OBAMA made promises that the new law cannot keep.

a politician lied. this is what surprises and angers you?

    just sayin.

The way it is set up there is no possible way costs will go down for those who currently have insurance. Too many people who don't have insurance (because they cant afford it) would have to buy insurance, including many young people who don't think they need it. It's very easy to see, unless you have your Obamablinders on. More insured people with the same number of people paying in equals higher costs for the payers.

More people in the pool may spread the risk, but if they don't pay in the costs for those that do have to increase. There are no cost controls in this turd called Obamacare!

If cost don't go up. benefits will go down.
The silver plan for Obamacare is the standard they keep talking about. It is a 70/30 plan with a 2500 deductible. The 80/20 and 90/10 plans will cost even more.
Most standard health plans now are 80/20 with varying deductibles.
The CBO estimates that even a decade after Obama is fully implemented, there will be 30 million still without insurance, So what have we done?

Ours is going up by 7%. My employer has adopted a progressive model where those making less than $50k won't see an increase. The more you earn the more you will contribute towards your healthcare. Smokers automatically will pay more and those willing to do a healthcare screening can see up to $1000 savings in their premiums.

As it has been discussed ad nauseum, as long as we expect someone else to pick up the tab for our own healthcare moral hazard will run rampant. If Obamacare had the pieces in place to give people a cost/benefit to their care then at least you could say that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, eventually. But there wasn't any real effort to address the structural issues related to healthcare and so we get increased costs with worse care. Education in a large city is the model for our care. If you have money you can get served well. If you are in the public system, well sorry.

It will changed to a single payer plan within 4-5 years as was intended all along. Big Brother will control the health industry and we will all be sicker for it.

    This^^^^^^

Too many people aren't aware of the reality of this law. They think it means free gubment health care, unfortunately it will be free for some, but much more expensive for others.

I don't recall many years, if any, when our health premiums didn't go up. I don't care for the ACA particularly but at the same time I wonder if this is just a good excuse for the insurance companies to increase rates at a faster percentage. I don't trust them a bit more than I do politicians. If they repealed the ACA tomorrow would we see a corresponding decrease in premiums? I kind of doubt it.

It was part of the quasi fascist system we have. There is no doubt the insurance companies are part of the problem. Unfortunately our government plays along and allows the system to continue through it's desire to control...

Of course they have been going up every year. This is almost triple the % increase that I have experienced over the last decade.

I agree, and we as consumers are caught in the middle. I don't know what they will do when they realize the carcass is picked clean.

Profit margins for the largest companies have increased apprx.2% in the last year and a half as compared to a year and a half prior to Obamacare.
