You just can't make this stuff up... Every single week we are going to have more and more of this. At what point do we as a Country say "OK... this law is crap and has to go"?

In order to ensure Americans understand how to access the benefits available to them when many provisions of the Affordable Care Act go online October 1, the Obama administration announced last month that it is setting up a call center that will be accessible to Americans 24 hours a day.

One branch of that call center will be located in California’s Contra Costa County, where, reportedly, 7,000 people applied for the 204 jobs. According to the Contra Costa Times, however, “about half the jobs are part-time, with no health benefits — a stinging disappointment to workers and local politicians who believed the positions would be full-time.” The county supervisor, Karen Mitchoff, called the hiring process “a comedy of errors” and said she “never dreamed [the jobs] would be part-time.”

Yeah, other than certain specialized positions, I have a feeling a lot of employers are going to go to a 30-32 hr/week to sneak in just under the full-time status so they don't have to provide benefits. This is just going to keep happening.

I suppose a job is a job, so woohoo for Obama and the administration for creating a ton of part-time jobs, but if you can't get insurance and can't make ends meet what kind of jobs are you exactly creating?

Just wait, I'm would bet the current administration will redefine part time down to like 16 hours in an effort to get more people covered under obamacare.

And then you'll have employers bringing multiple temps or others at 15 hours. That or making people work as "independent contractors" so that they're responsible for all their own stuff.

Haven't you heard? If yiu are a part time low wage earner and do lime your income...just protest. Use the catch phrase "living wage". It is undefinable and you can ask for almost anything. Kinda lime "their fair share"

Living wage will be come the next ows lime movement slogan.
