It is abundantly clear that Prince Barry has never run a business and has no clue whatsoever the challenges business owners face trying to hire workers who will be good, longterm employees. The expense of hiring an employee is pretty damned high when you include training, payroll taxes and benefits. To make employers do this blindly is assinine.

^^This... and that doesn't even include the liability involved. No one in their right mind is going to listen to that clown.

All companies should do background checks as there are too many sleazy ass attorneys who will sue the company should a hired employee with any kind of prior record cause harm to a customer, vendor or fellow employee. I would predict that large companies go class action against any EEOC action. The Obama administration's anti-business stance, starting with their National Labor Relations Board (who attempted to shut down the new Boeing plant north of Charleston, SC) is why our recovery is so anemic. And of course Obamacare is another contributor.

He was anti-business back in his days as a community organizer, too. Shaking down businesses with the threat of boycotts or litigation is the epitome of anti-business.

I think why this was posted was to show that lots more of this type event can happen under this mandate.

Can you even image the potential of events like this if day care centers cannot pull background checks on employees and have all type sexual predators taking care of little children

I wonder if obama would want his children under this type condition

You're generalizing this.....this EEOC action is against specific actions taken by BMW and Dollar General.

It's still a private company Nana, the POTUS and his agencies should not have that kind of dictatorial powers in our Constitutional Republic.

But, I do agree that some criminals are less of a risk than others, but there should be no blanket immunity for all ex-cons.

The EEOC has been around for decades performing similar tasks. This is nothing new.

I'm not sure if I buy into the complaint from Dollar General, but it appears there's a good case against BMW. Bet those former workers for BMW are glad the EEOC is specifically stupid.

I think they could be challenged in the SCOTUS. In other words you can't make me hire a bad person unless you assume the liability on that person... can the EEOC do that? No. Then they can't force me to hire a person that is more expensive, costly and threatening and possibly more dangerous than a good person with no violent record.

How would you defend the EEOC's actions to the SCOTUS?
