    From Rush Limbaugh:

This shutdown should show us that the federal government already has too much damn power. You know, it's one thing to go out and inflict damage on your political opponents, but to go out and inflict pain purposely on the American people, regardless of their party affiliation? Not everybody wanting to go to the Grand Canyon is a Republican, for example, and not everybody wanting to go is a Democrat.

Yep ... Obama is a hate-filled, bigoted, radical, leftie, legalist with a grudge against successful conservatives. He knows and cares nothing about serving on the behalf of Americans. It's about him and his desire to be something for which he's not suited. He should have stayed a community organizer .... oh wait, he failed at that. He should have stayed the criminal Chi-town politician he his.

This nation would have been $8 trillion better off ... and would not be forced into the "unpatriotic" act of raising the debt ceiling because of his "leadership failure".

By holding firm, don't you think he's showing some leadership....isn't that why the Pubs are in a tizzy? Do you think the Tea Party expected him to capitulate?

The Tea Party planned this.....they knew what a shutdown would do and it's effects on Americans. They also know the devastation American will face if they continue to threaten not to extend the debt ceiling.

It your beloved Tea Party doing this......many are just angry he didn't cower and capitulate like planned. I predict Obama will give your beloved Tea Party some wiggle room to save face.

Not at all. If he possessed leadership skills, he would have negotiated a resolution to the 2013-14 funding issue and ........ successfully and unpatriotically increased the debt ceiling.

His problem is he's a profoundly radical legalist ... who lacks the skills to effectively lead, manage, and resolve.

    Lol

The GOP miscalculated that the country would pin this debacle on the Dems. They saw right through this ruse.

In 2015, the gavel goes back to Nancy.

Love these threads where cons express their blind anger and say a bunch of dumb stuff. These are becoming ever more frequent here, which is a good thing.

Fred - did you actually say give the gavel back to Nancy? I wouldn't trust that old bag with my remote control but all long as people like you keep supporting the same old recycled politicians this country will continue it's slide into third world status.

Isn't it difficult to resolve issues when you're consistently met with obstruction or extortion?

I'm sure you know the difference between the terms used above (and tweeted to you by Al Sharpton) and what is going on in DC.

But ... no ... one can lead and negotiate settlements when facing opposition .... what the radical leftist now calls "obstruction".

I watched Reagan, Bush, and Bush do it. I even saw Clinton, Carter, Nixon, and Johnson do it. Funny that Barry cannot do it. No ... actually it is not funny. It's sad because many of us knew he was incapable of leading .... and yet, he conned so many people into supporting him and electing him ... and facilitating the possible/probable adverse financial consequences of his leadership failures.

$8 trillion dollars ...... and before he spent that money ... he claimed to do so was unpatriotic. Go figure. Hope you folks are happy with the damage he's done to the nation.

    I never understood this sentiment.

The left thinks Bush hates America.
The right thinks Obama hates America.

What's the matter with you people? Seriously.

Do you guys actually believe that all Tennessee fans are toothless, too? Are opposing viewpoints or opinions really that hard to accept?

    Sad, really.

I'm only surprised that you fingered the "tea party" instead of your favorite boogey men "The Koch Brothers". I'm shaking my head over your comments. It is why we have President Doofus for term 2.

The House of Rep (including many Dems) has passed multiple bills funding the VA and other agencies, etc. None got past Harry Reid in the Senate.

So who is blocking the funding?

0bamao is willing to negotiate with Syria, the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran and such ilk, yet refuses to negotiate with Congressional Republicans.

    So who "hates" whom?

0bamao has been in office for 5 Years. In that time we have had the IRS scandal, the NSA snooping scandal, the Putin checkmate of 0bamao in Syria, Iran continuing forward to a nuke, Fast & Furious, the downgrading to USA credit, the Nat'l debt doubling to $17 Trillion, the financial collapse of Solyndra, Fisker, et al.....yet sheeple continue to "love" 0bamao.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, including the execution of their children by his Adm, will change the minds of some who worship 0bamao. Nothing.

And lastly, what is the core essential belief system of the Tea Party?
