that is no excuse
I'm not going to read all this, but suffice to say I have no problem with seniors. I have a problem with calling the 47% who don't pay income tax "takers" with no regard for who they are, or what their circumstances are. Maybe when you're done defending the senior citizens who are "takers", you'll take a moment and look at the rest of the people who make up the so called "takers" and find some of them deserve your consideration just as much as senior citizens do.
CNN poll shows Romney would win by 9 if election was held now. Ouch! The fat white liberal media brainwashing is wearing off.
Isn't it foolish to bash senior citizens, when it is every person's goal to become one?
obama has already checked out
The fact that the press would find relevance in speculating on Obama’s post-White House residence – and identify California as the kind of scene the future ex-president would want to hang out in when he leaves office – is perhaps telling.
And, indeed, this comes on the heels of multiple reports from outlets such as The New York Times and Politico, detailing how Obama has increasingly been spending his time at trendy restaurants and fancy, late-night dinner parties with celebrities and various intellectuals.
Rubbing elbows with the rich and elite is fine enough. Unfortunately, the work suffers. The degree to which he is now phoning it in – sleepwalking perfunctorily through his second term – is astonishing.
And based on his recent handling of situations much more serious than a possible post-presidential move to sunny California, it seems as if “No Drama Obama” is no longer even worried about keeping up appearances; he doesn’t care enough to fake it.
Consider this: In recent days, a) Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down, apparently by Russian separatists in Ukraine, b) In the Gaza strip, the numbers killed continued to mount as Israelis and Palestinians exchange rocket fire, c) a huge influx of children fleeing Central American poverty and gang warfare swamped America’s southern border, creating a humanitarian crisis. And, oh yeah, d) Christians living in Mosul were given the choice to either convert to Islam or flee the area they have inhabited for nearly two thousand years.
This is close to when Bush checked out, too. Lame duck with oppo congress.
Hopefully, almost GD 2 won't happen like Bush almost caused.
All of whom have worked and payed into the system.
Seniors seem to be one of the few groups that some think it's OK to disrespect and make personal attacks. And it's a little weird because it's not like we have a choice in life of what direction we will be heading. May be one day at a time, but we have no choice, we will all get older. And hopefully we will make good decisions in planning for those days that are ahead. Time goes fast!
almost fell off my chair with that one. Your utter lack of understanding and total partisanship shows through so much when you make posts like this.
Amazing how when we realize that the takers are people just like you and me, simply calling people such, becomes "bashing".
The only one here trying to pigeon-hole seniors into the "takers" category here is you, six. It has been pointed out to you here, and in many other posts before, where they differ from the takers category.
We get it. You disagree, and loathe the elderly, and want to include them into the takers category. Your posts make this quite clear.
Who retires at 65 anymore? Most of us have been contributing to SS since we were 15 years old and it would have been nice to have each person have their own account with their own contributions.
The math of the 47% number, which is BS anyway, doesn't work without the retired on SS and Medicare crowd.
Therefore, the whole idiotic meme falls apart.
Absolutely, but our politicians, some of them anyway, decided long ago that they were the better conservators of OUR OWN MONEY then we are...
Let me guess....it's all still Bush's fault? Right?
This idiotic meme was Romney's doing, so it's probably the space aliens he talks to's fault.
And they overwhelmingly support the GOP.
Intelligent people know who the money-for-nothing crowd is that actually supports this clown. The under-40 losers who never have "been" and never will "be" anything to speak of in life.
There are a lot of the "over 40 crowd" who also know they never have been, and never could have been anything either. Most of them develop a serious case of 'wealth envy' as they get older, remaining jealous of anyone who actually HAS gone out in life and accomplished something. They resign themselves to the fact they never had what it took....so they just 1)sit around bellyaching and moaning about anyone who has more than them...2) bitching about corporations having too much money....3) talk about successful businessmen who put everything on the line and risk their own capital, and reach success while seething in envy.....and 4) feel the govt should take care of them in all things, especially when it means taking it away from those who DID obtain personal success. Oh yeah...#5) the worst of the bunch thinks the govt OWES us all healthcare at any expense, and constantly defends Obamascam with empty, repetitive, spoonfed bullchit they are obviously too dense to dissect on their own.
Really? Wheat exactly have I written that shows I quite clearly loathe the elderly?
And if you remember, it wasn't me who labeled the 47% "takers". If you guys want to talk about the 47%, then that includes retired senior citizens whether you like it or not. And since it's obvious you don't like it, maybe you should rethink the idea that not paying income tax automatically makes you a taker?
You mean half of the country that is living off of the other half.
